I’ll admit…there are times that I do not cook with butter.

GASP.

True.

While butter is my “fat” of choice for most things baked-goodness related. There are times I need to use a spread, like I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter Sticks because it works better. (Usually with my killer sugar cookies.)

With that being said…make sure you choose the “sticks” for your baking needs. Spreads from the tub have a different “makeup” and can create a VERY different end result.

But with a stick…you are golden. (Figuratively and Literally.)

    My amazing mother-in-law makes a shortbread cookie with a powdered sugar glaze that are out of this world. I can’t be trusted around them when she makes a batch!!

    My favorite cookies were a cookie my grandma used to make- they were like a sugar cookie, however had a few chopped nuts….a mix between a sugar cookie and a Mexican Wedding Cake cookie.

    Okay, my absolutely favorite cookie is my mother’s snickerdoodles. Even though I am an excellent cook, when I make the same recipe (which was from her mother), it never tastes as good as when my mother makes them! Whenever we go to her house, about once a year as she is in Colorado and I am in Missouri, there is always a plate of snickerdooles waiting to be eaten when we walk in the door! 🙂

    My fav cookie: the kitchen sink cookie. It begins with an oatmeal cookie sans cinamon. If you’re feeling lucky half the butter is subed for PB. add rasins, chocolate chips, all the nuts you got, crasins, m&m’s, and whatever else you can think of until the batter almost won’t stick together enough to make a glob to put on the cookie sheet. It’s perfection.

    I follow you on facebook and am subscribed to your emails. I am with the minority of Christmas Cookie lovers, I prefer crispy cookies. Cookies with the melt in your mouth butter crumb are the best. Something about the way soft cookies can stick to the top of your mouth, makes me choose the other side.

    I love to bake cookies more than I like to eat them. My favorite cookies are the warm ones right out of the oven, of any I bake. My favorite would probably be chocolate chip (Mrs. Field’s cookbook recipe).
