What do you do to get ready for the Holidays?

If you have company that is staying with you, do you add some touches?

Me. Here is what I do:

  • I always wash the sheets and put extra fabric softener in the wash.
  • Have a basket of “toiletry samples” available, in case they forgot anything.
  • Have a few fresh flower blooms in a vase on the nightstand.
  • Have extra cold beverages in the refrigerator.

It takes a little extra time, but I always like my guests to feel like they are treasured, because truly…they are.

    I always make sure the bedding is clean and fresh and we have plenty of food/drinks that everyone likes. I also plug in a night light in the hall so they can find their way to the bathroom in the middle of the night!

    Food is key with me so I make foods my guests like and have snacks that I can send on the road with them when they’re ready to leave.

    I check food preferences before their arrival and make sure to have things on hand that they like.

    I agree with Rosemary – I always concetrate on the food. No one says no to homemade cinnamon rolls!

    To make my guests feel special, I make sure to ask about allergies ahead of time – lots of people are allergic to strong fragrances. I also ask what their favorite beverages are so that I can stock up.

    I always have a goodie basket in my guest room. It’s full of toiletries, mints, and a recent magazine!

    DH and I give up our room to our guests. It started when I was younger and Mom would give up my room to company and it’s a hard habit to get out of.

    I live in a very small apartment so it’s hard to have guests over. I do make sure I keep everything clean, stock their favorite foods / drinks, clean blankets and I always off up my bed. Thanks!

    I turn my teenage daughters bedroom into a retreat! Fresh everything, lots of little touches, goodie baskets of trial sizes and a fridge full of their favorites! I have to make sure that after the 2000 mile drive my guests get a little pampered!

    I have a small house and I convert our Master into a hotel! Hubby and I are on the air matress just so guests can feel at home and have a getaway from our kids!

    We give our guests free reign of the fridge and pantry for when they just want a snack or feel like something, it’s nice to know you’re welcome to scrounge.

    we always have a drawing at every party where one person wins a basket full of goodies. Everyone gets a small bag of goodies as well so nobody feels left out

    I subscribe to your email and like you on Facebook. When my guest come over I was the Libyans they use with tide with downy and downy liquid fabric softener. This gives them a sweet smell every night they stay with us!

    Our guest room is filled with books, music, toiletries, etc. to make visitors feel at home and we try to suggest activities based on our guest’s interests and hobbies.

    I clean the house, put clean sheets on the bed, and I like to make a basket of samples of shampoo, conditioner, etc

    I use apple pie spice freshner to really create a warm holiday atmosphere. I put lots of nibble food to eat around the room and special gifts through the evening!

    I live in a town house and unfortunately we don’t have very many guests. We always go to our parents for the Holidays.

    I have frequent house guests since all of my family lives out of town. I always make sure to do a deep-cleaning of my guest room and guest bathroom for them. I leave out the “good” towels, sample sizes of toiletries, toothbrushes, etc as well as magazines, fresh flowers and extra blankets in the room.

    I like to put little snacks like chocolates, crackers or nuts in the guest room in case they get a case of the munchies during their stay and don’t feel like venturing into the kitchen.

    I do a lot of what you do for guests. Always freshly wash with extra softener the best towels and sheet sets!

    For guests, I provide little shampoos, conditioners, soap, pull out my favorite smelling candles or air fresheners (if there are little ones moving about).

    No one spends the holidays at our house because all family is near. When family gets together we try and do something fun. One year we painted wine glasses and another we made cookies. Have not decided what we will be doing this year yet.

    I love baking fresh-baked cookies. They may only be the premade dough, but I try to have the scent of them fill my kitchen on their arrival.

    I am an email subscriber. How do I make my guests comfortable. I find out in advance their favorites…. drinks/tv shows/snacks and make sure I have them on hand when they come to visit.

    I have a guest house, and I make sure I turn on the hot water heater. Once I forgot, and my dad did not feel his most welcome. 🙂

    My brother was just here with us for two weeks. I tried to coupon shop for him, but he wouldn’t let us. I’m going to just send him the stuff for Christmas!

    I always leave mini sized shampoo, lotions, conditions, etc. from Bath and Body works. Then I let them take them home! Its just a nice and cheap way to let them feel “pampered”. Plus, I think I would like that if I was in their shoes! lol
