Giveaway: Famous Footwear Rock Your School $50 Gift Card (2 Winners)

Famous Footwear has launched their “Rock Your School” contest via Facebook.

“Rock Your School” invites high school students and their parents to share their dream enhancements for their school. The high school that receives the highest number of votes can win up to $75,000. The winning entrant will receive a cash prize worth up to $25,000.

(And in my high school, I would have written an essay about the need for school-wide air conditioning.)

Entrants must share in at least 250 words how their school would use the funds to make it “rock.” Once uploaded, Facebook Fans can vote once daily for their favorite entry.

For details on how to nominate a high school, visit Famous Footwear on Facebook or download the mobile app, Rock Your School, on an iPhone or Android.

In addition, for every vote case, Famous Footwear will $1.00 to their prize pool, up to $75,000 for a school donation and $25,000 for individual entry. And two instant prize will include a $10 Famous Footwear and Converse gift cards, tote bags, T-shirts and more will be given away daily to voters.

Important Dates:

  • August 5 – September 8: Nominate your high school
  • September 16 – October 5: Fans will be able to vote on their favorite finalists
  • On or about October 21: The grand prize winner will be announced

There are so many talented high school writers out there and what school couldn’t use $75,000 or a child use $25,000 for college?

But because Famous Footwear wants you to Rock Your School in style too – they are giving away $50 Famous Footwear Gift Cards to (2) lucky KCM Readers.

    Brought suround sound to the cafeteria and chucked the jukebox! Yes I said jukebox and that was in the 80’s.

    I have to steal yours- I would have rocked my high school with air conditioning. At least by my senior year they finally let us wear shorts to class!

    I would have put in school wide air-conditioning in our elementary school! It would have made goin back to school so much easier in august!

    I would have to say with better ways to handle sex education like providing condoms to students. I remember how bad teen pregnancy was when I was in high school and delivery of pizza to school

    I would have allowed us to wear shorts all the time. I grew up in Florida and they didn’t allow shorts (except for special days) until the year after I graduated! It was crazy! My cousins in West Virginia were wearing shorts and here I was in the hottest state wearing jeans and skirts, lol!

    I would’ve rocked my high school with something to make the cafeteria more exciting. I always remember it being so boring and depressing with its all white cinder block walls and small windows.

    I sure hope my HS has upgraded by now, but I would put a battery backup installed in the PA system. Freshman year there was a tornado warning (it did damage a block away, so it was a real threat), but the power was knocked out right before the warning. The secretaries went up and down the halls knocking on doors and calling out instructions. It also would be great to make the breezeway linking the whole school to the building with the basement NOT completely windows.

    I would have LOVED to see air conditioning in my school!! That’s definitely how I would have rocked my school! Too bad they did that the year after I graduated! 🙂

    I would have rocked my private Catholic high school by having “Casual Fridays”! It would be a day to ditch the blue, uniform, saddle shoes and knee high socks and wear some rockin’ shoes from Famous Footwear!     I would have rocked my school by having catered healthy lunches and school-wide air conditioning. Love your site! You’ve saved me tons (even in WI!) !

    A paved student parking lot. When I was there, it was only dirt…..think how lovely the hallways were on days it rained.

    I would have added longer lunch hour as my high scholl was in the bbonies at the time, and getting anywhere fun for lunch was a mission impossible.

      Sorry I misunderstood. I would have installed more computers. Computer time was short because we had to share.

    I would have rocked my school by changing the rules about not wearing shorts. It would have been so nice to wear them when it was hot.

    I would’ve had an all school back-up generator for when the power went off (all the time) and so we could flush the toilets! 🙂 (I went to HS in Haiti …)

    I would have given a longer time to get to and from class. 5 min is not enough time to get all the way across campus through packed hallways!
