Spring Break has ended and the kids are back in school. Yay!

But this means there are only weeks – yes weeks – left until Summer vacation begins.

While I’m sure we all are looking forward to the warmer weather, the thought of a wide-open calendar and kiddos off school gives this mama heart palpitations. That is why at this time of year, I always start making my list of things to do with kids in Kansas City.

Crown Center is always at the top of that list. And, since 2012, that has included SEA LIFE Aquarium and LEGOLAND Discovery Center. If you haven’t been to SEA LIFE or LEGOLAND yet, you’re in for a treat. If you have, you’ll still want to go back and check out the newest additions.

On March 7th, SEA LIFE opened its new Claws exhibit. Claws allows guests of all ages to come face-to-face with different species of crustaceans, including a 14-foot Japanese Spider Crab, Coconut Crabs, Fiddler Crabs, plus many more. It includes interactive features that allow guests to learn the anatomy of these amazing crustaceans and feel the shell textures of the different species. Guests can also learn the secrets to grabbing objects using a crab claw and see unique videos of crabs doing various activities.

At LEGOLAND, check out the new LEGO Friends area, including Olivia’s House. I absolutely love that LEGO now offers products geared toward our daughters. The LEGO 4D Movies never disappoint, and they rotate often so you’ll always see something new.

    We love the free pools in kc. Particularly the little one tucked away in North kansas city. Perfect place to spend a hot afternoon!

    We splurged this year and got a pool membership for the city pool closest to us. We’ll see if we use it as often as I hope we will.

    My kids play a whole lot of sports! We are running from one end of KC to another but haven’t got to enjoy many attractions in the area yet.

    I’m excited for this summer bc it will be the first one having a kiddo. He will be 10 months so we are looking forward to hitting up some of the fun places. Zoo, parks, Dena Rose, etc.

    Our favorite summer activity used to be the Crown Center fountains, but now we settle for a cheap large inflatable pool in the backyard!

    My son has many favorite things to do in the summer which we do all of them quite a bit! He loves to go to Worlds of Fun and Oceans of Fun to ride the coasters and big water slides. He also loves hanging out at Union Station at the Xtreme Screen/Planetarium/Science City. He also loves going to Lego Land his favorite part is the 4D theater and building his own car. He alsp loves to go to Sea Life and see all of the fish. Finally, he likes to go to Paradise Park and ride the go karts, mini golf, and play laser tag! Needless to say we keep busy all summer long!
