I love fresh flowers.
I’ve often said that if I had the money, I would have fresh flowers delivered to my house every week. But since I’m not made of money, I’ve become really good at Easy Fresh Flower Centerpiece DIY.
The key to any fresh flower arrangement is to purchase a good amount of high quality flowers. My favorite places to purchase fresh flowers are warehouse stores (like Costco or Sam’s Club) or Trader Joe’s. Also, make sure to change your flower’s water daily so there isn’t a chance for bacteria to build which can make your flowers wilt quicker.
Here is an easy fresh flower centerpiece DIY tutorial to make your fresh flowers look like a professional created them every time.
Easy Fresh Flower Centerpiece DIY
Supplies
Large blue canning jar
12 stems of ranunculus or other small compact flowers like carnations (the tighter the flower, the better)
18-24 stems of tulips
2-4 stems of a ‘filler’ green
Directions
1. Measure against the vase approximately how long you’ll need the stems to be and then give each flower a quick trim at the bottom. You can always trim more later.
2. Remove any lower leaves that might hit the water line. (This helps to avoid the bacteria.)
3. Place the tulips into the jar one at a time. Use tulips that are curved at the top around the perimeter of the jar so you have a full and planned hanging look.
4. Fill the center evenly with the remaining tulips.
5. Carefully place each stem of the ranunculus into the jar so it starts to fill out the bouquet and balance the shape.
6. Tuck the ‘filler’ greens in where needed.
7. Change the water daily to prolong the life of the flowers.
