As a mom, I want the BEST for my kiddos.
I want them to be happy, healthy, functioning in society kids. And to be honest, I don’t think there could be anything worse than to have either one of my kids with a life-threatening disease that would impede them from being happy, healthy and functioning. Watching your child suffer is hard. Giving up all control and laying the outcome in hands of pediatric doctors, nurses and surgeons is even harder.
While I haven’t had to go through that experience with either of my kiddos, I have plenty of friends that have…and each time they get through it, their response is the same, “Thank GOD for Children’s Mercy.”
Which is why, I’m beyond excited, to announce Redefined Mom’s partnership with Children’s Mercy Hospital for the upcoming 2016 year!!
Each month, I’ll be sharing with you personal stories, information and resources from the Children’s Mercy team (with over 700 pediatric specialists – they are kid experts) about ways to keep kids healthy and happy.
This month, I will be attending a watch-party for Children’s Mercy’s Documentary Series “Inside Pediatrics” and doing a little live-tweeting and Instagramming.
This Emmy-winning six-part documentary series hosted by Paul Rudd, gives viewers an unprecedented look behind the walls of Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City. The series follows real life stories of patients and families they serve providing an inside look at the specialty programs, operating rooms, and medical transport teams that provide care for patients with conditions ranging from the most common, to the most complex.
The second season premieres on Wednesday, December 16 at 7:00 pm (followed by a second episode at 7:30) on KMBC.
I am a transplant from Nebraska, but I’ve lived in Kansas City for almost 20 years and consider it home. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to partner with Children’s Mercy and showcase one of the many of the reasons this city is so amazing. I can’t wait to learn more about this beloved hospital and share it with all of you.
And make sure to follow Children’s Mercy Hospital on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. And Inside Pediatrics on Facebook.
