This Friday (September 3rd) ONLY Whole Foods has grass-fed beef on sale for $3.99/lb.
If you have been thinking about trying grass fed beef – this is an excellent opportunity because this is about as cheap as it gets. (Unless, you are buying a cow, and that is a whole different post.)
Thanks Shopping For Wool & Flax.

Thank you, I was hopeful this was some promotion on steaks or roasts but it is ground beef. I’ll bet it tastes good, too, but while $4 a pound for hamburger right now may be a great deal for grass-fed ground beef, that’s a hefty premium to pay over ground chuck on sale. Still, I’ll probably try one pound just to see what the difference in taste is.
Thanks again 🙂
Eric –
You are right, it is a premium to pay. But it is going to be the cheapest you’ll find grass fed ground chuck around here unless you buy a cow. It does taste different – not better or worse – just different. Curious to see what everyone thinks of it.
Actually, there’s a local farm (in north KC) I buy grass-fed beef from and his ground beef is $3.10 a pound! The meat tastes fantastic and prices of his other products are reasonable as well.
