At my walmart, I used 19 covergirl $8/2 and 19 $1/1 q’s and bought 38 items. The eye shadow was $3.14 which would have been $51.68 in overage but I chose to mix some things up and got blush, eyeliner and eye shadow. I also used a variety of coupons for Halloween candy and price matched from Price Chopper’s ad $1.88. I also matched country mart hamburger tools for 1.99 and added in some razors and Bayer aspirin (wags ad). My total started at $285.?? And brought it down to $72.10. I made sure I put the $1/1 covergirl at the bottom of the stack so the computer would read it correctly.
Shawn – just a couple of things. You shouldn’t have used both the 19 $8/2 and the 19 $1/1 coupons. Your 38 items should have been covered with the $8/2 coupons – so you used more coupons than you had items. Also the Cover Girl is suppose to be for face products only (blush, powder, concealer, foundation). If we don’t become more diligent about following the rules on the coupons – we will see the coupon values continue to decline.
Aren’t all Covergirl products “face” products? I used mine for eyeshadow and eyeliner and had no problem, even with the CSM standing over my cashier like a hawk. I understand not using 2 coupons for the Covergirl but your EYES are on your face are they not?
Lori – according to P&G Cover Girl Face is powder/foundation/blush. I realize it is super confusing and understand how innocent mistakes can be made.
Noticed that Minute Maid Juice Coolers 10pk are 2/$4 at Hy-vee Northland St. Clair Avenue. I used the $2/1 coupon which made them free.

Hello, Thanks for all the good advice. However, I don’t understand how you can use coupons for more that the worth of the items. Like above on axe or cover girl. All walmarts, targets, cvs, in my area will only let you use the coupon for the amount. For example if the axe is only .97 and the coupon is 1.50 they and the computer will only give you the .97 of the coupon. So Then your waisting part of your coupon. for example walgreens and cvs have a small nivea body lotion for .99c and the coupon for nivea body lotion was 1.00 on any size. So they only let me use the .99cents of it. So i still got it free, but I did not have an overage.
J – Walmart is the only store that allows overages. It is stated in the Walmart National Coupon Policy.
