I will be married for 20 years on February 15th.
I love my husband for multiple reasons. But, when we were dating, one particular reason took my breath away…he knew how to cook.
(This was a BIG DEAL because I had NO idea how to cook. Well, that’s not exactly true. I was really, really good with Tuna Helper in a box.)
Fast forward to our first five-years of marriage. My beloved husband was getting tired of being the only one who knew how to use a spatula. He thought it was time for me to learn a few basic kitchen skills and share the meal preparation workload.
Well, you know the saying that a man should never teach his wife to snow ski or drive? You should probably add “teach basic kitchen skills” to the list.
It was a disaster. At the end of the lessons, I was pretty sure I wanted a divorce or to just eat take-out for the rest of our married lives vs learning the “proper way” to hold a knife and chop an onion.
But, deep down, I really wanted to learn how to cook. I knew it would be more healthy, better tasting, and would make Hubs happy.
One day, I confided my “wish” to a good friend. She looked me dead in the eye and said…
“You need to go to a Pampered Chef party.”
“WHAT! What’s Pampered Chef?”
“Trust me. Go and google it.”
So, I did. I googled Pampered Chef. And I checked out all of their cool kitchen gizmos and gadgets that made cooking look easy. And that day, I requested to have party with an Independent Consultant.
Even though the party was 15-years-ago, I still remember being in AWE as the consultant used the Apple Peeler/Corer/Slicer to make apple crisp and the Ultimate Mandolin to make “Taco Bell Style” shredded lettuce.
That party and the subsequent items that I bought from Pampered Chef started me on the path to love cooking.
In fact, several of the items I bought 15-years-ago still get a workout in my kitchen today including the Food Chopper, Stoneware, Pizza Cutter, Vegetable Peeler, Flour & Sugar Shaker, Slice & Serve, Measure All Cup, Classic Batter Bowl, All-Purpose Spreader, Citrus Peeler, Apple Peeler/Corer/Slicer, Garlic Press, Egg Slicer, and more.
I firmly believe that Pampered Chef products allow me a way to cut down on meal prep time and frustration – allowing family memories to be made around a table and not a take-out bag.
So when Pampered Chef contacted me to write a review of their new items and host a giveaway, I jumped at the chance.
Even though I have a treasure trove of their products, I hadn’t spent time on their website in awhile. It was fun to see the new products as well as the older standards – hello, beloved Rectangular Baker.
The first item that caught my eye was the Veggie Spiralizer because we have been trying to incorporate more veggies in our diet. We own a hand-held version we picked up on Amazon several years ago and it works “okay”. However, I wasn’t sure a $60-ish spiralizer would be that much better.
As usual, Pampered Chef proved me wrong. The Veggie Spiralizer was simple to use, creating either wide or thin spirals quickly, and cleaned up easily. It handled soft veggies, like zucchini, as well as hard veggies, like squash, with ease. (Plus, Pampered Chef gives you a free eBook with ideas.)
The next item I reviewed – The Rockcrok® Everyday Pan. The Rockcrok® Everyday Pan is the perfect size for one-pot weeknight dinners. Plus, since it is created from a clay that’s heat-resistant to 752°F, you can sear, braise, simmer, slow cook, fry, boil, bake, broil, microwave and grill in one pan. (And freeze, which is great for freezer meals.) It was a breeze to make my Zucchini Parmesan Pasta Recipe in the pan.
As we go into 2017, I thought it would be awesome to create a “New Year, Healthy Cooking” Prize Pack to help you make healthy meal creation a breeze. I personally own all of the items in the Prize Pack and use them on a regular basis.
Meal time should not be frustrating. With the right tools and recipes, Pampered Chef makes it possible for anyone (including Tuna-Helper-Kelly) an amazing cook. Contact your local independent Pampered Chef Consultant to find about their products or host a party.
One lucky reader will win a $250 Pampered Chef Prize Pack that includes the following: 1. RockCrok Everyday Pan, 2. Veggie Spiralizer, 3. Vegetable Peeler, 4. Food Chopper, 5. Classic Batter Bowl, and 6. Can Strainer. You can check out those items, here.
If you are reading this post in a feed reader or on mobile, this is a Gleam Giveaway and will require you to go this website to enter. Giveaway open till end of day December 24th and only to residents of the continuous 48-states.
Disclosure: Pampered Chef is a proud sponsor and partner of Redefined Mom and provided the giveaway prize. However, my love for cooking and Pampered Chef and the written remarks are entirely my own. Want more information – check out my full disclosure statement.
