Walmart has released a new corporate coupon policy and it has some amazing changes.
My favorite…
Coupons may exceed the price of the item. Change may be given or applied toward the cost of the basket purchase.
Which is fancy terminology for “overage”.
Let’s use an example:
Gain Fabric Softener Sheets – $2.50
Use $3/1 from 2/13 RP Insert
FREE + get $.50 back in cash or have it applied to other items in your basket
If it were me, I’d print out a copy to take with me. But there have been reports of people actually get cash back after their transaction in complete.
Thanks Consumer Queen.
Wow.. perhaps I need to start buying more at Walmart. I never have gone there much in the past because I have had some problems with coupons before there….
I second that on printing the coupon policy.. I have printed copies of many of the major store that I shop and keep them with my coupon accordian pouch. Just in case.
Bug – I haven’t shopped there is a year. (No joke.) However, after hearing some of my readers talk about their scores and on other forum boards – I might have to make a trip over there.
It makes me dislike Walmart less. 🙂
So, if I read this policy and understand correctly, Wal-Mart will accept the Target store coupons. Is that correct?
No – they will not accept store coupons for $X off a product. If you happened to have a store coupons that read “Coke 2-Liters for $.99” – you could use that coupon at Walmart.
I’ve received cash back from Walmart several times lately! There is not a better feeling than getting all the stuff in your cart for free and then having them pay you to take it out of the store! Yeah!!!!!!!!!!
And, really they should give it back to you or apply it to your other purchases since they receive full face value for the coupon plus an extra 8 or 10 cents.
