It was a crazy Spring Break Week at Casa de Snyder.
We stayed in town for the majority of the week (except for a quick trip to Lincoln, NE to stay with my folks). We watched tons of movies, ate junk food, got bored, found a new hobby, got bored again, read a book, played games with each other, started fighting, thought Mom was mean, and thought Mom was the greatest person in the universe.
All-in-all, a successful Spring Break.
But besides our Spring Break craziness, here are the things I love this week.
1. Nestle Pure Life Exotics.
Hubs has loved flavored sparkling waters since as long as I’ve known him, which is about as long as dirt has been around. Me, not so much. The lemon-lime flavor never really did it for me even though I tried multiple times to drink them.
Then a couple of weeks ago, I tried Dasani’s Raspberry Sparkling Water. (It was a whim really, I had some great coupons and thought Hubs would enjoy a change of pace.) And lo-and-behold, I liked it.
Then, this week at Target, I spotted Nestle Pure Life Exotics and thought I’d give them a chance because I was becoming a little burned-out on Raspberry. And they are AMAZING.
(Like hide them from the rest of the family and Hub’s hired men because I don’t want to share with anyone.)
And to be perfectly honest, I may be just a little addicted to them. Like need to have one everyday and it may have taken over wine as my new beverage obsession.
(I’m sure it is just a phase, because nothing could take over my love for wine…or could it?)
2. FILLSTA Pendant Lamp from IKEA (as seen in my office).
I went to Kansas City’s IKEA for the first time three weeks ago, (I know, I’m the one LONE person in the city who hadn’t been there before) to pick out some new office furniture.
We are in the process of re-doing my office into something that reflects my style and is more functional. Pictures will be coming soon, I promise.
In the process of purchasing file cabinets and floating shelves, I spotted this FILLSTA pendant lamp.
I fell in love instantly, but wondered several things…would it put off enough light? is it well made? was it too modern?
Hubs told me to get over myself and SPLURGE on the $29 pendant light. I did. And it was installed this week and it is perfect.
Puts off a ton of light (thanks to Hubs brilliant use of an LED 75 Watt bulb) and helps tie this modern/beachy/colorful space together.
Best $29 spent in a long time.
3. #Thisis40Forever
When I turned 40, I decided that instead of having a “year” that was full of awesomeness, I’d have a lifetime of awesomeness and document it with the hashtag #thisis40forever.
Tonight, at 7:30 pm, I will be in a moment of awesomeness. I’ll be in the fourth row (in either seat 5-6) at the Maroon 5 concert.
Yes, the tickets were expensive. Yes, my husband thought I was insane. And yes, my kids are jealous.
But, the way I see it, people drop the same amount of money on a new Coach Handbag all.the.time. And long after the handbag has been given to my daughter, resold or given to Goodwill, I will have the memory of Adam Levine and the band being within 10 feet of me. Close enough to make eye contact, see strings on the guitar, and hear the real voice behind the microphone.
And that my friends, is why, #thisis40forever.
(Plus, I may be insta-hoing the entire time I’m there. So if you follow me on Instagram, you’ve been warned.)
