My blog followers are all about saving more, spending less, and living better. Sometimes that means doing it yourself, and sometimes that means knowing when to leave a job to the professionals.

We have all washed our car in the driveway at some point. But did you know it is actually better for your car and the environment to leave it to the experts? A clean car will drive better and feel better. Especially after the long and harsh winter we had. And, a professional WaterSavers carwash uses 40 gallons (or less) of water and safely filters the runoff to be recycled or routed directly to the water treatment facilities. At home, we are going to use more water and release harmful chemicals into storm drains that go right into our rivers and streams. Our garden hose uses 63 gallons of water in just 5 minutes!

2). Clean up your interior using eco-friendly products. Use a mixture of baking soda and water to scrub the floor mats and microfiber cloths to wipe down your seats and surfaces.

3). Perform scheduled maintenance. Don’t forget to change the oil and check your tire pressure. Tires that are under or over inflated can affect the safety of your vehicle as well as reduce your gas mileage.

    Our next road trip will be from KC to Wild and Wonderful West Virginia this July. Every summer we pack up the car and take our time visiting points in-between. We let our ten year old decided on the places he’d like to see and we all take part in putting together the route we should take based on the sites we want to see.
    On top of that, we all make a list of things we want to take, need to take and food we want to bring with us. We’ve almost got it down to a science, but every year we seem to come up with a new idea and a new place to visit. We love road trips b/c it gives our family time to talk to each other uninterrupted by the phone, tv, or doorbell. It’s a great bonding experience that we look forward to each summer! Get Mobile America, there’s so much to see!

    Our family just got home from a road trip Tuesday from CO for my brother’s wedding. We spent a couple of days at a resort near Winter Park for the wedding and festivities and it was beautiful!! For our next road trip, we will probably drive to Chicago for a long weekend this summer too to spend time with family.

    Our biggest road trip yet will be to Palm Beach Florida this summer. My son has been accepted into a Broadway Intensive Training Class and he and I will be there by ourselves for 3 weeks. Exciting and kind of scary being without the hubby.
