I’m a HUGE fan of BOOK IT!
I was a child of BOOK IT! – meaning in my country little elementary school – I was one of the first classes to participate in the BOOK IT! program.
And I loved it. For a kiddo, there is a real feeling of accomplishment when something YOU DO provides your meal for the evening. And even better, it was because I was reading.
Well, BOOK IT! is changing it up and launching the the Give Me 20 Challenge.
The Give Me 20 Challenge is designed to get kids to commit to read 20 minutes a day, for eight weeks. Families and classrooms that meet the eight-week challenge can enter for a chance to win one of fifty The Very Hungry Caterpillar prize packages.
This is so important because children who read themselves and are read to on a regular basis show more interest in books, have a higher vocabulary, and learn to read more easily…and just 20 minutes a day is all it takes.
And because BOOK IT! wants to to celebrate with your kiddos – they are giving away a The Very Hungry Caterpillar Prize Packs to (2) lucky KCM winners.
Prize packs include:
- $20 Pizza Hut Gift Cards
- The Very Hungry Caterpillar Book
Here’s How To Enter The Giveaway
(Remember, each comment is considered a entry – so leave a separate comment each time.)
Leave me a comment and tell me your favorite childhood book. (Ex. Bear Snores On…)
Additional entry: Become a email subscriber to Kansas City Mamas. (I promise, I won’t spam you.) And then leave a comment and let me know.
Additional entry: Become in Like with Kansas City Mamas on Facebook. (We have fun, I promise.) And then leave a comment and let me know.
Contest will be open till end of day on March 27, 2013. Winner will be notified by email and has 48-hours to respond before another winner is chosen. Winner must reside in the lower 48-states of the continental USA. Good Luck.
Disclosure: Pizza Hut provided the giveaway prize, but I was not compensated in any other way. The written remarks are entirely my own. Want more information – check out my full disclosure statement.
