Part Two of my Great Clean Eating Cookbook Giveaway.
In addition to clean eating, another top category for healthy eating is Super Foods.
Julie Morris has written Superfood Kitchen which is full of recipes that are plant-based, nutrient-dense, and whole foods that will energize, nourish and taste amazing. And even better, the photography is amazing and it makes you want to try all of the out….immediately.
In addition to great recipes, there is a section that details the science behind super foods that I found very interesting. My only complaint with the cookbook is that many of the ingredients scared me to death and I had no idea where I would buy them. (The answer is Whole Foods or online – but who wants to be the “goober” walking around Whole Foods asking where to find maca powder.)
But once, you embrace this new list of ingredients, you will find foods that are nutritious, delicious and super for your family.
And one lucky Kansas City Mamas reader will win Superfood Kitchen by Julie Morris.
Here’s How To Enter The Giveaway
(Remember, each comment is considered a entry – so leave a separate comment each time.)

I had to go to my pantry to figure out what the weirdest thing is that I’ve bought. I can’t say that I’ve bought anything too strange. But my husband thinks I’m weird for buying quinoa and chia seeds.
Sarah P says
I don’t buy anything strange because I have small kids that are a tad picky

I like you on Facebook! And the weirdest ingredient that I have ever bought is Pea Protein, chia seeds, and quinoa. I don’t think it’s weird now, but at the time each of these was extremely bizarre!

chia seeds!
Rebecca says
hmmm, I don’t think it’s weird to try exotic foods- expensive maybe! Pommegranates may be the strangest. They are a pain in the butt to cut and clean and there is no food (I have found) that is anything like them.

Weirdest ingredient I have ever purchased is Irish Moss. Used in savory and sweet dishes; Cafe Gratitude dessert cookbook uses it in many of their wonderful, creamy-textured desserts. Also, is really great in savory recipes like dressings and sauces!
Margaret Grote says
Probably Coconut Oil.

I recently bought astragalus because I heard it was good for boosting immunity and/or adding to soups, but I really don’t know what to do with it.
