This giveaway has ended. Congrats to our winner, Vicki E.!
I am so excited for this week’s giveaway.
In case you haven’t heard, Kansas is the birthplace for college basketball, and we are lucky enough to have one of the most amazing college campuses just a short drive down K10. As soon as you’ve reached the “hill” you know you’re in Kansas. The red rooftops and native limestone buildings from the Flint Hills create an absolutely beautiful backdrop. You walk toward Allen Fieldhouse and see the bronze statue of Phog Allen and you instantly feel like you are a part of something bigger – part of a unique history that is Kansas.
We hear a lot about the men’s team, but did you know that the KU Women’s team is a force to be reckoned with? The freshman Gonzales twins are proving to be a formidable opponent. Head Coach Bonnie Henrickson has led the KU Women to post-season play in seven of her nine seasons, with back-to-back Sweet 16 tournament runs.
And, while you are in Lawrence, check out the plethora of amazing places to eat and shop. Have you taken a stroll down Massachusetts Street? (Mass, for those in the know). I love to eat at The Mad Greek, Free State Brewing Company, and Quinton’s. And, I can’t leave town without picking up some of my favorite candles from Waxman Candles.
We are so excited to give away 6 tickets to a KU Women’s Basketball Game and a $50 Gift Card to Downtown Lawrence so you can enjoy a great night out. The winner may choose either game:
- Wednesday, February 26th, 7 PM vs. K-State
- Saturday, March 1st, 7 PM vs. Iowa State
Here’s How To Enter The Giveaway
(Remember, each comment is considered a entry – so leave a separate comment each time.)
Leave me a comment and tell me your favorite KU tradition.
Additional entry: Become a email subscriber to Kansas City Mamas. (I promise, I won’t spam you.) And then leave a comment and let me know.

Contest will be open till end of day on February 12, 2014. Winner will be notified by email and has 48-hours to respond before another winner is chosen. Winner must reside in the lower 48-states of the continental USA. Good Luck.

We enjoy being able to stand where the players leave the court after the basketball game.
Having the kids be able to be that close to the players is always fun. You can’t
get that close at most schools.

I get you great emails.
My husband went to KU and we go every year to some sporting event. My 13 year old daughter went to the KU volleyball camp which was a blast for all of us. My 16 year old daughter loves to shop downtown. Tickets for 6 would be awesome as each daughter could bring a friend which makes it more fun. Lawrence is a great town.
The Rock Chalk chant!
I’m so excited to see this giveaway, even if I don’t win! We love KU basketball and own a business in downtown Lawrence, so this is awesome!

We used to love to sit on the hill before they made it so you can’t see the game anymore. Now it is going to watch the women’s volleyball and dinner.

We have never been to a KU game. 🙁 Two of my daughters LOVE basketball and currently play on their High School Varsity team. This would be so awesome to go and watch! 🙂
My daughters are basketball players and KU fans-I’m doing the mom sacrifice thing here and entering (even though I’m an MU alum).
We like to try a new place to eat each time we are in Lawrence.
