This giveaway is now closed. Congrats to Christy A.!
This conversation nearly could happen in my house:
Kiddo: “Mom, did you put pepper on my eggs?”
Me: “No, it’s just the nonstick surface of the pan flaking off. You’ll be fine.”
Actually if this would happen, maybe the kiddo would be fine, or maybe not. You know, healthy cooking isn’t only about which foods are in the pan, but what you’re cooking with is also important to consider.
GreenPan uses Thermalon technology that is non-stick and heat resistant up to extreme high temperatures. Even if you overheat your pan, no toxic fumes will be released, and the coating will not blister or peel.
Here are a few more fun facts:
- GreenPan products are cadmium- and lead-free.
- 60% less CO2 is emitted during the curing phase of production, compared to traditional coatings .
- They use upcycled stainless steel for the handles and upcycled aluminium for the cookware bodies.
I was in SHOCK at how well this pan allows you to stir-fry (or plain just fry) with virtually no oil. I’ve used non-stick pans before, but this pan far and away beats the competition. It well-designed, well-made and so stinking easy to clean. (And never worry about weird “flakes” again.)
And you just may have the chance to see for yourself, if you win this giveaway…

I substitute firm tofu for different types of protein (chicken, pork, etc) in meals where my kids won’t notice, such as grilled burittos or enchilda casserole.

My kids don’t like the taste of ground turkey, so I mix it with ground beef when I make spicy foods like spaghetti or chili so they are less likely to taste it and I know they are getting just a little less “bad” fat.
We use apple sauce where we can in baking, instead of oil.

I love using zucchini in place of regular noodles. You can cut zucchini with a spiral slicer and it makes a great substitute for pasta. And you get an extra serving or 2 of veggies:) They would be great sauteed in this pan!

In some things we use oatmeal that we just grind in the blender in place of regular white flour to add in more whole grains. We also like to replace oil with applesauce in some baked goods.

My healthy cooking tip is to ditch the salt and season with herbs and spices instead.

I’ve started cooking with healthier oils that have more flavor – sunflower oil, coconut oil, and sesame. Because they have more flavor, I use less and they are better for you than regular vegetable oil.

My healthy cooking tip: cook from scratch whenever possible. Most of the high sodium, fat, etc comes from processed or restaurant food. Use Pinterest to find easy, yummy recipes to try!

Like many others, we cook with a lot of ground turkey, as well as use olive oil a lot for cooking and coconut oil for popcorn. Delicious! I also don’t use a lot of salt. Pepper and other spices flavor just as well.

I liked your Facebook page, liked GreenPan on Facebook and my healthy tip is to make homemade whip cream – just add a touch of vanilla and 1 to 2 packets of truvia (stevia) to a cup of whole cream- mix it all together in a mixer until cream forms peaks and serve with fresh fruit- delicious and easy
