This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Folgers for IZEA. All opinions are 100% mine.
I love coffee.
In fact, I’d call myself a coffee snob.
(Along with the rest of Kansas City evidently…82% of us say we need a GOOD cup of Joe to start our day out right.)
So when I was invited to learn about the new Folgers Perfect Measures, I was hesitant about going.
I was familiar with the Folgers brand. Shoot, I had grown up on it. But in my mind, Folgers was a coffee for a different generation. An older weaker-coffee-loving generation. I was more sophisticated in my coffee choices and flavors.
See, I am a snob.
What is Folgers Perfect Measures?
Folgers Perfect Measures is a new way to enjoy your coffee in an automatic drip coffee maker. Perfect Measures comes in pre-measured portions, to make a consistent, great tasting cup every time. (So you no longer need to fight about “who” makes a better tasting cup of coffee.) Add the same number of pods and your cup will come out tasting the same way every single time.
In a nutshell, because all of the tabs are pre-portioned, you can get a consistent cup of coffee. Each tab correlates to 6 oz of water. If you want stronger coffee, add more tabs. Weaker coffee, use less tabs. It really is that easy!
Folgers Perfect Measures comes in five flavors: 100% Columbian, Breakfast Blend, Classic Roast, Classic Decaf and Black Silk (which was my favorite).
Folgers Perfect Measures Review
As I mentioned before, I am a coffee snob, so I went into this “tasting” fully believing that I would not like the coffee.
(Sure, perfect measure pods are cool, but I’m a k-cup girl who lives and dies for her Keurig.)
Can I just tell you how SHOCKED I was at HOW GOOD it was?!?! I don’t know if it has been “that long” since I had Folgers or if they reformulated their coffee, but it was good. Like, really good.
It wasn’t acidic. Great robust flavor and smooth finish. Granted, I like my coffee strong, so I added a few more pods than normal. But my cup of brewed coffee rivaled some of the Green Mountain blends I buy for my Keurig (and at a fraction of the cost – did you know a big tub is only $7.99?!?!).
The Black Silk and 100% Columbian were my favorite.
You can see my “shock and awe” on an update from Instagram last week. Seriously, it will really, really good coffee. Kansas City is a test market (along with St. Louis and Indianapolis) and Perfect Measures is available at Hy-Vee, CVS and Target.
We liked Folgers Perfect Measures so much, that we have put away the Keurig for now, and are using our “old-school” automatic drip coffee maker on a regular basis. #truth
See, even a coffee snob can learn a few things. (And for the record, Hubs likes it too.)

Stores in test market cities may make available Perfect Measures coffee in their stores in non-test market towns. It’s how I got my PM.

As a Kansas City native, I can say YES we do love great coffee. Which is one reason I find this post puzzling. We have so many many great local Kansas City coffee roasters. Broadway Roasting, Parisi, Blip, Messenger, Thou Mayest, Oddly Correct, City Market Roasters and Roastarie just to name a few. All producing exceptional coffee affordably. With all the great variety, do we really need to lean on single serve packaged / processed coffee tablets or coffee pods? Isn’t a table spoon measure with a french press or drip coffee maker easy enough to manage? Give some of our KC roasters a chance, you might be amazed.
