I’m so sorry I missed last week.
Last week was crazy-sauce. I got back from a three-day video shoot (which the average day was 18+ hours) late Friday night. When I finally walked in the door, my family was overcome with happiness and hugs, and I struggled to put together a coherent sentence.
So Hubs threw me in the shower, made me eat a sandwich, and put me to bed at 7:30 pm. And you know what, I didn’t wake up till 8:30 am the next morning!! I don’t think I’ve slept that long since college (remember that good sleep from college, why can’t that come back??). Needless to say, I was a hot mess for the rest of the weekend.
But that was a week ago, and this week has been filled with so many fun things, so here is what is making me happy this week.
1. My Fashion Modeling Debut.
Okay, not really. Because I’m FAR from a fashion model.
But I got to go play dress-up at ParkPlace in Leawood on Wednesday with my dear friend Kristen from Dine and Dish. One of the new focuses of RDM is fashion for the over 35+ year old set. And while I will never be, don’t have the body for it, can’t give the attitude look to save me life…I do love clothes and love helping people find clothes and accessories that will look good on their body type.
So my “lookbook” will be officially posted sometime in October, but for now, I thought I would share my favorite picture Kristen took of me. It’s me. It’s all about laughing, having fun, and rocking a pair of jeans every now and again.
PS: Nothing will make you believe in the power of good posture, sucking in your gut and SPANX than having a photoshoot when you are 40 years old. #thatisall

2. Nuance Concealer and Mineral Foundation.
So in order to have good looking skin for said modeling debut…you need a good product that can cover all the STUFF you don’t want the camera to see.
I LOVE. LOVE. LOVE the Nuance Collection from CVS. I’ve tried so many different mineral foundations in the past and all of them have made me break out, except this one. You will be AMAZED at the long-lasting coverage of this DRUGSTORE brand. Honestly, I’d bet some serious $$$ that it would beat some of the more expensive department store brands.
3. 14 Ways to Spook-ify Your House for $3 or Less
One of my favorite magazines, Better Homes & Gardens, has put together a list of 14 Ways to Spook-ify Your House For Under $3.00.
Not only is this a great resource for your own home, but also for ALL of the KIDDO HALLOWEEN PARTIES that are coming up in a month a half. (Is that soon already???) I love this magnetic skeleton that can be done for under a $1.00 each. PERFECT Halloween Party craft idea.
Plus, because I always want to make things easy for you….here are the links to two of my Pinterest boards that go along with the THINGS I LOVE for this week. Both are contributor boards…and have close to 30 contributors each.

Thanks for that 14 ways link! We do that paperbag trick every year too, but instead of spiders we cut out pumpkin faces.
