Why I Can’t Use Paper Plates When I Entertain #MyMargaritaville

One of my God-given gifts is entertaining.

I love it. I love the planning. The execution. The introducing of “Person #1” to “Person #2”. The drinks. And of course, the food.

And in the summertime, I prefer to entertain in a less formal atmosphere – outside on our screened-in porch beneath the ceiling fans, outdoor speakers and near a cooler of ice-cold beverages.

And while the less formal atmosphere is perfect for conversation, my “Emily Post Etiquette” tendencies make it hard for me to serve guests meals on paper plates and plastic forks.  (Yes, I’m one of those people.) But, being a stick in the mud and using true china or stoneware kinda of ruins the outdoor relaxed vibe.

Enter the HSN’s Margaritaville Collection.

HSN Margaritaville Collection is the most beautiful outdoor dinnerware I’ve ever owned in my entire life. The island-inspired blue and teal pattern is so well done, most people will think it is actual china and not melamine. For example, Hubs, who never really notices these things, even commented on the pattern.

The Margaritaville Serving Platter is over 18″ and big enough to hold a family-sized salad, tray of burgers, blackened chicken or pile of brownies with ease.

Plus, the melamine doesn’t feel like melamine. (If you know what I mean..) It’s much thicker, stronger, and heavier. My inner-Emily Post could relax, because this wasn’t just Paper Plates and Plastic Forks 2.0, this was al-fresco dining at its best.

Couple the gorgeous serving platter with matching plates and bowls and you’ll have gorgeous table worthy of eating outside or inside.

And for my cost-minded peeps, the Margaritaville Collection is currently on sale at HSN with FREE shipping.

I know it seems silly that I don’t like to use paper plates when I entertain (believe me, my husband would be SO MUCH HAPPIER if I did), but I truly think it is the little things we do when we entertain that make people feel loved, respected, and wanted in our homes. And if that means having some awesome outdoor dinnerware to share with friends and family, then so be it.

Especially when it is this beautiful! Now, where is my cabana boy with a cold frosty drink?
