So many of you have asked me, “How do I figure out what kind of wine I like?”
The answer, “You need to try out a lot of wines.”
If you lived in California, this would be easy. You could go out to wineries a couple of times a year and try out different varietals, styles, and winemakers.
But alas, we live in the Midwest.
And unless you want to shell out a chunk of change to buy eight different bottles – it because more difficult.
So when I saw this Groupon, I knew I had to share.
The Cellar Rat (which I think is of the top two wine shops in the KC Metro) is offering a Wine Class for Two for $40.00 or bring your friends along and get a Wine Class for Four for $75.00.
There are several classes to choose from including basic wine tasting, the $10 vs $100 challenge, a sensory class that exposes you to over 60 aromas in wine, or explanation in wine varietals.
This is a great deal. Not only for exposing yourself to some awesome wines, but to also get an education in the art behind wine making. And you get to spend some time in the Crossroads/Power & Light District which is also super fun.

I bought this the last time it came around, it was by far the best wine class I have ever taken. It was well worth the $40 for two. It has also become my new favorite wine spot in town. The have lots of free tastings (wine and beer) and they sell some of the local and hard to find brews!

Mary – Thanks for sharing. I assumed it would be an awesome class because of their level of customer service – but it is good to know someone has taken it and loved it.
