This giveaway has ended. Congrats to our winner, Taja K!
Just when I thought my love for Red Gold Tomatoes couldn’t get any sweeter, it did.
Red gold released several new flavors like Lime & Cilantro, Green Chiles and Garlic/Olive Oil. So delicious! Better yet, Red Gold has put out some amazizng recipes to make great aolis with the new tomato varieties. Don’t know about aoli? Well, it isn’t a fad. It’s been around for centuries. It is a fancy mayonnaise, most often infused with garlic and other flavors. Great way to dress up a menu without going to a ton of trouble.
For example, summer might be a perfect time to try a new take on the popular (and sometimes staple menu item at our house), the BLT.
BEST YEAR ROUND BLT with TOMATO AIOLI
MAKES 4 SERVINGS PREPARATION TIME: 20 MINUTES1⁄2 cup light mayonnaise
1 (14.5 ounce) can RED GOLD® PETITE DICED TOMATOES
8 slices bread, variety of choice
4 large lettuce leaves
12 slices bacon, cooked and drained
Ground black pepper to taste
Combine mayonnaise and RED GOLD® PETITE DICED TOMATOES to make the Tomato Aioli.Place lettuce on 4 slices of bread and then add three strips of bacon and top with Tomato Aioli and black pepper. Place slice of bread on top. Cut in half and serve.
We had a great response to the Red Gold giveaway last time, and are eager to do it again. Courtesy of Red Gold, one lucky KCM reader will win a $75 gift card to Jasper’s Restaurant. Why? Because Mr. Jasper Mirable himself loves Red Gold, and uses Red Gold tomatoes. My husband and I shared a very lovely date night at Jasper’s just recently. The sauce is so unique. So authentic. We literally fought off the children for our leftovers the next day.
