DIY Homemade Natural Facial Toner

The secret to beautiful skin? Toner. This DIY Homemade Natural Facial Toner is pennies to make and completely natural. You can thank me later.

I love vinegar.

So do my kids. We eat it all the time—vinegar chips, vinegar popcorn, salad dressings, dip for fish or french fries, etc. Both my husband and I have a tablespoon a day of raw apple cider vinegar in a glass of water to help with our digestion and sinuses.

Vinegar is AWESOME!

Not only is raw apple cider vinegar an immune booster and digestion helper, it can also regulate the pH balance of your skin.

I’m all about balance these days and would love to help balance out my oily, yet flakey, skin. Over at Don’t Mess With Mama, I found the simplest recipe to make your own DIY Homemade Natural Facial Toner.

The star of this toner is the raw apple cider vinegar. It has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, perfect for balancing your skin. I mixed up a batch and I’m so pleased with how clear and non-flakey my skin is. I’m also loving how cheap it is to make!

I’m even going to make a batch for my teenage sons to see if it helps with their acne. I’ll let you know how that goes. I might have to bribe them with some salt and vinegar chips though!

Please note: This toner does not smell pretty, so if you can’t stand how vinegar smells, you might want to add some lavender (or another one of your favorite) essential oils to your mixture.

What you will need:

1. Mix 1/2 part vinegar and 1/2 part purified or filtered water in your small spray bottle.

2. If you don’t like the smell of vinegar, you may want to add 5-10 drops of lavender essential oil to your mixture (optional). Lavender is great for all skin types and smells wonderful.

3. Once in the morning and once in the evening, spray a small amount of your toner on a cotton swab and apply to your face (avoiding your eye area). Make sure you shake the bottle well before spritzing your cotton swab.

Good luck!
