The holidays (or really anytime, if you live in a cool location) means people traveling and staying at your home.
Wouldn’t it be nice if you gave your guests the five star treatment like you get at a nice hotel? Of course, this is me, and I can’t pass up an opportunity to “mess with” my guests and make them laugh while I roll out the red carpet.
That’s why I made this DIY Guest Room Basket with a FREE Printable Sign. The basket includes your WiFi login and password, a few funny comments on the sign, and necessary and fun toiletries/items.
Your guests will feel welcomed and won’t want to leave! Wait, that won’t work. Maybe I need to make a ‘Please Go Home Guest Basket’ if they stay more than three days?
(That whole, fish and company goes bad after three days thing.)
Either way, your guests will start off their stay in your home feeling like celebrities.
When you buy items for your basket, think of things that you normally need, but sometimes forget when you travel. I like to hit my local discount store’s travel section or dollar section to find mini items like:
- Toothpaste
- Toothbrush
- Deodorant
- Lotion
- Shampoo
- Conditioner
- Hair gel
- Hair spray
- Sunscreen
- Moisturizer
- Saline solution
- Eye drops
Some other items that might be handy are:
- Hair brush
- Comb
- Hairdryer
- Bottles of water
- Snacks
- Paper pad and pen
- TV channel guide
Don’t forget to add some entertainment to make them smile:
- Funny book
- Silly putty
- Play dough
- Playing cards
- Whoopee cushion
- Funny glasses
