My dear friend, Jen from Saving and Giving, asked me if I would like to be part of the 30 Day Giving Challenge about a month ago.
I said sure. And then asked, “What is the 30 Day Giving Challenge?”
I’m always amazes me when “things” just work out. I had been thinking for the last couple of months that I wanted to do some sort of exercise that would get my heart ready to experience the blessing of the Advent and Christmas season. And just as I was ready to make up my own thing – along comes Jen – and she hands me something that has already been formed.
And I learned a long time ago, it is easier to get behind something that has steam behind it than to start something on your own.
So what is the 30 Day Giving Challenge?
It is exactly what it says.
I’m challenging myself (and you can challenge yourself too) to GIVE in one form or another over the entire month of November. Giving can be BIG or giving can be small – but as we all know – sometimes the smallest action has the greatest reward.
So…each Monday, I’ll provide you a recap of my weekly activities, as well as my plan for the upcoming week.
Week of 11/01:
- Buy items for Operation Christmas Child and complete letters to the recipients.
- Take care of kiddos while other moms are in Building Better Moms Church Group.
- Give a free presentation about couponing to a local group.
- Make something special for my kiddos and Hubs this week.
- Send something special to someone special. (Sorry, they read the blog and it would be a giveaway.)
- Let the Spirit guide me in one unknown way.
Will you join me? What would our world around us look like if we took deliberate steps to GIVE everyday? Let me know in the comments.

Oh, Kelly! You’re in for a great month! I love your weekly list of ideas, especially the openness to let the Spirit lead you for one. If we plan everything, we lose the awesome surprises that God might have in store. Thanks for sharing your heart and for joining us on the journey.

I love that you posted your plan for the week–and that you left a little wiggle room. I remember Amy from The Finer Things in Life saying last year that so many unexpected opportunities to give presented themselves. Glad to have you in the challenge!
