For years I avoided white accessories. I always thought white accessories were for great grandmothers…the ones that still want to wear jewelry, but don’t want to think that hard about it.
But over the past 12 months, I’ve watched the trend of white accessories pick up steam. I’m not sure why the pick-up, other than to think we are swinging to the other side of the pendulum…away from the COLOR BOMB of statement necklaces and into a more subtle look (similar to the trend of layering necklaces).
So I decided it was time to get over my “white accessory issue” and I bravely bought a set of white and gold earrings and white and gold bracelets. And I liked what I saw…and then they became my new favorite “go-to” accessories with jeans, t-shirts, tank tops and more.
White pairs with EVERY COLOR. It’s like the best friend to the Crayola Crayon Color Scheme. And it just feels easy and un-fussy, kind of the way that summer should be. (Plus, it looks great with a tan.)
So, yes, I’m smitten. I’m smitten with the white and gold combination. And I have new found respect for those great grandmothers…they were right, white is easy to wear.
