Christmas is less than a week away – the kids are excited (it can’t get here quick enough for them)! And as parents, we’re still wrapping, shopping and cleaning, right?! But with schools finishing up this week, we will soon have some time to spend together and enjoy some of that ‘holiday cheer’. Wondering what to do during the coming days?
Family Reading Time
One of those seasonal activities that’s enjoyed by so many is cuddling up with the kids and reading a holiday story add cocoa and a warm fire and it turns into one of those amazing moments that live on in our memories long after Christmas is over.
Try this list of 30 FREE Online Holiday Books for Kids for some great reads: Frosty the Snowman, Rudolph, Snowmen at Christmas, A Christmas Carol, Twas the Night before Christmas and many more – all free and all online so easy access from your iPad, laptop, Kindle or phone for reading wherever you go!
Another great way to read a book is to pair it with a holiday tradition – we’ve paired great kids books with family activities so you can find recommendations on “what to read” when you see the lights, build a snowman, decorate the house, bake cookies and more!
It’s the Simple Things
For kids, many of the holiday memories that they have are focused on those simple activities that take place during the season. They remember things like making cocoa before watching Rudolph, making paper snowflakes or decorating their room with lights!
Think about making a set of easy Holiday Coupons for the kids that highlight some of those simple but memorable activities (like spending a day in their pj’s)!
