And continuing its Father’s Day Frosty Weekend tradition, Wendy’s is inviting customers to help raise money for Wendy’s Wonderful Kids (a program of the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption).
So for the entire weekend (June 16 – 17), Wendy’s will donate $.50 when you do any of the following things. There hope is to raise $1.4 million dollars for the foundation and that will help a WHOLE lot of kiddos who could use a break.
1. Buy a Frosty. (Includes the original, parfaits, shakes and floats).
2. Use a mobile-friendly website to check in at Wendy’s at www.wendys.com/treatitforward.
3. Re-tweet: Re-tweet one of @Wendys Twitter posts with the hashtag #TreatItFwd.
Pretty simple, huh? Eat a malty-chocolately frosty, check-in at Wendy’s, and doing a little Re-Tweeting.
And because I know that you need a little cash for your Frosty. I’m giving away a $10 Wendy’s Gift Card to one lucky reader.

MY DAD WAS THE BEST! He pasted away in December 2008 at the age of 84! He was a fighter. He had Type 2 Diabetes for 50+ years, hypertension, hypercholesteriemia, and CAD, among a few conditions he dealt with. He lost his wife in 2004 from a VERY unexpected Stroke, as she always had healthy habits. She survived the stroke, but about a week later, she died from blood clots in both lungs. It happened the very night she was transferred to a rehab center (4 hours after we left). After being in ICU for 3 days and coding very 5-15 minutes, my dad made the difficult decision to turn off the life support system. After that, he slowly went downhill. He was already dealing with skin cancer treatments, when he was diagnosed with Throat Cancer. He made it through treatment and recovered nicely. He started having memory problems and began not taking his medication, not eating or drinking properly and deteriorated rapidly. I received a call one day, after his neighbor found him on the floor in his home (he had a key and checked on him) and he was rushed to the ER. He had a brain aneurism and was bleeding in his brain. I immediately flew there and we had to give permission for brain surgery. Thank god that went well and he seemed to be better than before. His memory actually improved! Then in early 2008 he was diagnosed with colon cancer (after having several heart attacks related to dehydration). We finally had to make the decision to place him in a nursing home as his memory problems increased and he became sicker. He passed away 3 days after going into cardiac arrest (I looked through his medical chart from the nursing home) and never being sent to the hospital or notifying the family! He hung on 3 days while suffering cardiac arrest before finally passing in his sleep on the 3rd night. My sister was called and told “Your father expired last night”. I was furious! My father, my dad, a human being is not a piece of meat that just expires! How rude. Anyways, he lost a long, hard fight and a very full-filling life. He had a loving, caring wife; 4 children (2 girls, 2 boys); 3 stepsons and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He retired to a beautiful lakefront property (which was his dream because he loved fishing) that we enjoyed during our childhood summers and later got to enjoy with our own kids. He retired from the USPS after about 35 years of service and in his teen years, he served in the Navy. While in the Navy he suffered a knee injury which he dealt with for over 60 years. MY FATHER, MY DAD WAS A GREAT MAN; WHOM IS LOVED AND MISSED DEARLY!
