This is the first item to make our “Frugal Christmas Gift List.” This Good Housekeeping cookbook is only $5 at Kohls (part of their Kohls Cares for Kids campaign). What makes it different from all the other holiday cookbooks is the history included with each recipe. Here’s an excerpt: “In the 1920s, Clarence Birdseye, a young scientist on assignment in Labrador with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, discovered that his daily catch froze quickly in the Artic temperatures yet tasted very fresh when thawed. He seized upon this concept and launched the frozen-food industry in 1924.” Check it at any Kohls store or at Kohls.com!
