Review of Wendy’s Berry Almond Chicken Salad + $25 Gift Card Giveaway

I’m a salad geek.

I eat salads, alot. Almost one everyday.

I eat them with fruit, veggies, tortilla strips, chicken, steak, taco meat, cheese, etc.

And because I’m a salad geek and I have two children under the age of eight, I also eat a LOT of salads at fast-food restaurants.

I’ve eaten salads at McDonald’s, Chick-fil-a, Burger King, Subway, etc. And while a fast-food salad is okay, it seems to never be AMAZING.

So when Wendy’s and The Motherhood offered me the opportunity to review Wendy’s new Berry Almond Chicken Salad, I was ready to expect the same-o-same.

And fortunately, I was wrong.

What stuck me about this salad is the fruit – strawberries and blueberries – mixed with chicken, lettuce, and sharp cheddar cheese. So it was sweet, with just a bit of creamy tartness, and lots of good lean protein.

The calorie count is also awesome – only 330 calories per salad – and that includes the raspberry vinaigrette dressing.

The only down side is the price. My salad was $6.79 and if you add on a couple of kids meals and drinks, you’ll be paying close $20.00 for a lunch out.

However, as we are on the road this summer, I’ll remember the Berry Almond Chicken Salad as a great option for healthy eating while traveling.

    I love the Baja Sala at Wendy’s the best. I always eat this salad when I go, love the combination of all the ingredients, especially the guacamole everything taste better with it.

    plain crunchy tacos from Del taco (cheap and tasty), grilled chicken strips from Jack in the Box with Teryaki sauce (pretty healthy choice) , salads from Wendy’s (every one I’ve tried has been yummy and lo cal!), the new Angus bacon cheese burgers from McDonalds (but the calories in it are crazy!)

    I try to avoid fast food as much as possible, but this salad kind of sounds amazing. If I were going to get fast food, it’d have to be the hand dipped onion rings from an old burger joint around the corner. the place is kind of a tiny shack of a building and only has a walk up window, but they’re cheap and everything is fresh.

    I love the new Wendy’s salads..all of them.
    However my favorite fast food is the culver kids meals…I get a drink, burger, french fries and custard for $5 (and since my son is only 2 I can feed both of us!)

    My favorite item from Wendy’s? Frosty… hands down. LOL I haven’t had one in ages. That sounds really good on a hot day.

    I love the Baconator sandwich from Wendy’s but since it is so high in calories I only splurge every once in awhile. The new salads are all so yummy but I agree a little pricey!

    One of my favorite items on the Wendy’s menu is the double stacker from the dollar menu. We like t0 pick items from the dollar menu when my girls have friends come over and we stop to get something to eat. It’s inexpensive way to feed a group of teenagers.
