The answer, usually, in today’s world is…not very much.
Yet, many of our favorite phrases come from the word “penny”.
- “A Penny For Your Thoughts?”
- “Pinching Your Pennies”
- “Penny Wise, Pound Foolish”
- “Pretty Penny”
It’s an item that doesn’t get used much, but means a lot to us. It’s part of the American Tradition.
JCPenney conducted a penny focused survey. The results found that the penny may be tiny, but mighty!
- 95 million Americans (2 in 5) say they usually wouldn’t even pick up a penny if they saw it on the sidewalk.
- But that doesn’t mean Americans think the penny is worthless. In fact, quite the opposite. Nearly nine in ten Americans still keep pennies around either in their home, a piggy bank or their purse (89%) and say that pennies can come in handy (88%).
- Almost three-quarters of Americans (73%) say the penny is an important part of our currency and should not be eliminated.
Which is why, JCPenney is launching a new promotion called “Penney Days.” Penney Days will include “Buy One, Get One” offers that will be available in store and on jcp.com.
The first event starts this week (Feb. 28 to March 5), where Penney’s will allow customers to purchase any item from JCP’s The Original Arizona Jean Co.® and receive an additional Arizona item for just one penny (excluding footwear). For example, you can pick up TWO PAIRS of ARIZONA RELAXED STRAIGHT FIT JEANS FOR MEN for $40.01.
Throughout the year, additional Penney Day promotions will include one-day-only specials that feature a unique in-store item for just a penny with no additional purchase required so keep an eye out for more information! JCPenny private brands include Worthington®, Liz Claiborne®, Stafford® and many more.
I am a JCP GIRL. For years, I think they have been the best kept secret for fun, affordable women’s fashion – ESPECIALLY for dresses and cute tops. I love dresses from BisouBisou® and tops from Worthington®. For the style and value, they can not be beat. So I am SUPER excited for the new Penney Days promotion. It’s always awesome to get a second top or dress for almost free.
Plus, JCP is a great place to stock up on essentials for the kiddos and not break the bank. They have a great selection of top-tier (and most desired) brands like Nike®, Adidas®, and Levi’s® along with their private brands. As busy moms, we need to spend our time and money wisely, that’s why JCPenney is doing whatever it takes to make every interaction worth our time, money and effort.
And I am looking forward to seeing just how far my penny takes me!
What do you think? Will you be checking out JCP “Penney Days”? Have you checked out their private label brands in awhile? Were you surprised at how fashionable and affordable they are?
