Welcome!

I’m so excited to welcome you to the new and improved Redefined Mom and the former Kansas City Mamas.

Kansas City Mamas started in August 2009. And it grew in large part because of the support I received from local mom, church, and other small groups. Without their support, I would not be still blogging today and I’m so thankful for each of those groups and the women in them…I’ve loved hearing your stories, your successes, and being part of your lives for the last five years.

But five years is a long time (it’s almost 25 in blogging years). I’ve changed. My priorities have changed. My kids have gotten older (when I started my youngest was three and now she is in 2nd grade). Our lifestyle has changed.

And I turned 40.

I’m a blogger at heart and with all of these changes going on in my own life (and the lives of my friends), I felt like I had a years worth of posts to write. The problem…they just didn’t feel right on Kansas City Mamas.

So after a lot of prayer and thought, I decided that it is time for a change.

And now, Kansas City Mamas is now RedefinedMom.com.

So what does this mean for you?

Absolutely nothing.

• I will still be posting the deals you’ve come to love and depend on to keep financial margin in your life.
• I will still be posting recipes of my favorite dishes (but hopefully more frequently).
• And you will still be getting your daily email from me, just like this one (it will happen automatically).

But with this change, it allows me to add more to the site, including:

• DIY Projects – That anyone (I really mean me) can handle.
• Fashion and Beauty Articles – As I navigate the waters of being 40 and what that means to my face, body and style.
• Home – I’ll bring you into my home and give you tips, tricks and encouragement on how to manage everything without losing your ever.lovin.mind.
• Travel – My family loves to travel and we do it pretty well and I can’t wait to share some of our adventures with you.
• A Site Redesign – In order to make it easier for you to find things, the home page will feature a collection of articles from every category. But as you click on the category, it will open up to all of the content available.
• Me – After five years, I finally have the right team in place (Meg, Mary Ann, Jenn, Becca, Erin, Chris, and Kate – because it truly takes a village like Team Sonja) to allow me to focus on sharing myself with all of you.

Plus, what kind of announcement would this be without a little of FUN. This week I will have six giveaways of my favorite things including Clarisonic Mia, $100 Nordstrom Gift Certificate, Erin Condren Planners and Luggage and much, much more. (So much more, like over $1700 in prizes.)

So grab a cup of coffee, a can of Diet Coke or a glass or wine and explore the new site.

I’m truly blessed. Never in a million years would I have thought my “little” blog I started five years ago would be what it is today…and while I could thank a bunch of people like an Oscar speech…in the end the biggest thanks goes to all of you for allowing me into your email box everyday. Thanks for sticking with me and I look forward to being part of your lives for at least another five years.
