SO, Christmas is over.
And my excuse to eat cheese and crackers with a side of peanut butter blossoms and three glasses of wine is gone too. {sniff}
But what is HERE… is the extra 15 lbs around my mid-section.
(Did you see the picture I posted this week? Lovely, right?)
With the extra weight comes the need to get back on the wagon and sticking to my regular workouts.
And I thought what better time then to share the items I use to keep me motivated to workout (because goodness knows I need it.)
FitBit Blaze
I purchased a FitBit Blaze before Christmas because it was on super sale from Amazon. I blame my sister-in-law. This wasn’t even on my radar, but when I told her about all the things it could do, her response was, “BUY IT. That does more than my TomTom and I paid almost double.”
Can’t let a good deal go, can I?
Well, this impulse buy is my new favorite accessory for working out (and life in general.)
What does my FitBit Blaze do? It counts my steps. It tracks my heartbeat. It sends me texts from my phone. It creates mini-workouts for me. It buzzes me when I need to get up and walk around. It tracks my weekly exercise when I’m trying to be Chuck Norris. And it can control the volume for my bluetooth headphones.
(If it only talked to me like Alexa…then it would be perfect.)
But MY FAVORITE PART?! It is really, really easy to change out the watchbands to all of these cool and hip options. That fact ALONE makes me excited to wear it all the time because it doesn’t look like a big piece of black plastic attached to my wrist.
(Seriously, look at this one, this one, and this one. They are so cute.)
Show you 10,000 steps. Eat my dust.
Contigo Stainless Steel Water Bottle
Water.
How I love you and hate you. I know I’m suppose to drink you all the time, but unfortunately I have a love affair with your wicked cousin, WINE. She’s so much sexier.
But, I’m trying to be better. Luckily, your other good cousin, LaCroix helps me out. People tell me that I should invest in YETI Thermal Cup because it will keep my water ice cold. I know I will drink more water if it is ice cold, but I think they are insane because if I’m going to spend that much for a cup, I want my water to taste like your wicked cousin.
My solution? The Contigo Stainless Steel Water Bottle. For a fraction of the cost, this beautiful water bottle keeps my beverage cold for 12 hours, plus it has a STRAW. (For some reason, drinking cold water out of a straw is so much better than just from a glass.)
In all seriousness, I have used a Contigo Stainless Steel Water Bottle for about three years now and LURVE it. It really does an amazing job of keeping water cold (which encourages me to drink more water), while also fitting in cup holders and taking general abuse of being on the go, without spilling a drop. And did I mention the straw? That sealed the deal.
Xersion Workout Clothes
I’m a believer in having good-looking workout clothes. Unfortunately, I don’t want to pay more for a pair of workout capris than I do for my good jeans.
My solution, Xersion Workout Clothes from JCP.
I got the tip about Xersion clothes from a student in Adore Your Wardrobe. I tried a couple of pieces of clothing and am a believer…for the money, you can not beat the style and quality. My only complaint is that JCP doesn’t have a “huge selection” and the selection isn’t consistent. But, considering it’s a third of the cost of Athleta (and you were just going to sweat in it anyway), it’s a steal.
Here are some of my favorite pieces (shown above).
Ruched Bra Tank Top | Quick-Dry Workout Tank | Woven Capris | Quick-Dry High Support Colorblock Zip-Front Bra | Print Capris
Now, off to get my Chuck Norris on.
