I’m adding a new feature to Redefined Mom called I LOVE these things…
I wish I could claim credit for the idea, but I shamelessly stole it from my friend Amy Clark on MomAdvice. She does a quick roundup every week and it is one of my favorite weekly posts. I like that she gets to be her, in conversation, and share some stuff that is making her world rock that week.
So, here are the three things this week that made my world rock…
1. Katy Perry.
On Tuesday night, I got to take my mom and wife hat off, and hang out with one of my besties, Kristen from Dine and Dish and watch Katy Perry perform a part concert/part circus/part Broadway show for a sold out crowd at the Sprint Center.
The performance was amazing. It has Katy on wires floating around the Sprint Center, twirling birthday cakes, and a complete indoor fireworks show that would have rivaled a Metallica concert.
My favorite part, however, was getting to experience it with my friend.
Kristen is one of those “internet friends” who has become a real life friend. We just clicked. (I really think it is because I dropped the f-bomb at a blog meeting after I had a particularly stressful day at home.)
We are blessed because our husbands and families get along as well too, so it is relationship that will last for a lifetime, not just a season. I love that we get to experience 40 together!
2. Sharpie Pen Stylo.
I have a weird obsession with office supplies. I love new pens. I especially love Sharpies. But you bring too many Sharpie Value 12-Packs into the house and your hubby starts looking at your funny.
My friend (see Kristen above, she’s a bad influence) recommended the Sharpie Pen Stylo and it is a bit of heaven for this office supply junkie. I love being able to write anything and not worry that it will smudge or the pen will run out of ink in the third word. Plus, they just look wicked cool…like a high-end-i-know-what-i-am-doing kind of pen.
My to-do list better watch out.
3. My new website.
Speaking of acting like I knew what I was doing…you might have noticed a new look around here this week. I merged my two sites (Kansas City Mamas and Redefined Mom) into one site with a new design.

My team (thank you to Chris or Klong Designs and Jenn of New Season Design) worked their butts off this past week. And while it is true, that mergers and remodels are not for the faint of heart and I couldn’t be more thrilled with the end result.
I’m so excited to share more of me with all of you, while still posting about the things you have come to love and depend on at Kansas City Mamas.
My 40th year is looking pretty good peeps…great friends, new Sharpies and redefined website. I think it could be pretty darn fun.
