Last week I attended a T-Mobile Party hosted by my dear friend Kristen from Dine & Dish.
There were several other Kansas City Bloggers at the party (which was my favorite part), we were able to experience the new T-Mobile store layout (lots of screens, white and pink), play with the new Android Tablets, and get a chance to win a phone.
I won a phone.
And I have decided to pay it forward and give away the phone.
But I have a plea.
Please only enter if you are a current T-Mobile user and need a new phone or if you are thinking about becoming a T-Mobile user. (And seriously, there are some great plans on T-Mobile – including the unlimited Talk & Text Plan for $39.99.) The phone is pre-programmed for T-Mobile Users – so it will do you virtually no good if you are a Sprint or Verizon customer.
With that being said – one lucky Kansas City Mamas reader will win a T-Mobile my Touch 4G Slide Phone.
Here’s How To Enter The Giveaway
(Remember, each comment is considered a entry – so leave a separate comment each time.)
Leave me a comment and tell me about a time you gave it forward.
Additional entry: Become a email subscriber to Kansas City Mamas. (I promise, I won’t spam you.) And then leave a comment and let me know.
Additional entry: Become in Like with Kansas City Mamas on Facebook. (We have fun, I promise.) And then leave a comment and let me know.
Contest will be open till end of day on December 21, 2011. Winner will be notified by email and has 48-hours to respond before another winner is chosen. Good Luck.
Disclosure: T-Mobile provided the giveaway prize, but I was not compensated in any other way. The written remarks are entirely my own. Want more information – check out my full disclosure statement.

Our family has never been ‘well off’, but we’ve always been happy and we’ve always managed to round up a bit of savings for Christmas gifts. I have always been very Thankful for that. Once I got out on my own I realized that there are some children that don’t even get a package of socks to unwrap Christmas morning. Since then, i always participate in an adopt-a-family program each year. Some years we’ve been able to give more than other, but we always put toward a little something. 🙂

I pay it forward everytime I go couponing. Although my household is on a limited budget which is nearing zero, when I am able to get something for little or nothing, I make sure that I give it to someone whose situation is worse than mine. I have given several young people some things to help them get started in their own place. I am a current T-Mobile subscriber and could really use a new phone.

I lost my job yesterday morning and was quite upset buy on my way home I had to stop at the gas station. On my way out of the parking lot I saw a man sitting there in the cold with his stuff. Even though I was stressing bad knowing what I was going to be dealing with soon I felt a need like a pulling to him and just had to try to put a smile on his face. I pulled over and talked to him for a while finding out he was a teacher for many years and one of the teachers who lost their jobs when kcmo schools downsized. When it was time for me to go he smiled at me and said thank you for taking time out of my day to show him that he was still important

My family supports a little church in the inner city and this past year at their Ice Cream Social, my son won the grand prize raffle drawing. When we went up to collect it, he told the pastor 50% of it was going directly back to the church. I was very proud of him for that! On a side note, we would Love to win this. I am a long time T-mobile customer and my cell phone is literally falling apart. I have been wanting to switch to another but can’t justify the expense since T-Mobile is by far the cheapest carrier.

Contonued…….and that someone still cared about him. Although I didn’t have much I gave him what I had along with my time. I said God bless you and he responded with he just did 🙂 Merry Christmas! As I walked back to my car I turned around to see a huge smile on his face and he waved to me. I waved back and left. The biggest thing I learned today is everyone no matter how much you have in your purse or pocket we all have the most amazing and helpful thing to give and that is time 🙂 so I encourage everyone to take some time out to put a smile on someone elses face 🙂

I have Tmobile and my husbands phone is ready to bite the dust. I actually have this phone and I love it. But I don’t want to sign another 2 yr contract right now and pay $400!
I actually printed business cards that I carry in my wallet. They say: You have been shown a random act of kindness, enjoy it and pass it along. My favorite thing to do is to pay for the person in the drive thru behind me. I pay for the order and then I had the cashier the card to give to the person. It is just a little thing but it puts a smile on their face and gives them something to feel good about all day. I make sure to do it everytime I have my 10 y/o grandson with me so he is learning a great lesson of kindness.
Happy Holidays!

This year we have been paying it forward by doing a Random Act of Christmas Kindness for at least one person each day during the month of December. So far some of the things we have done are putting candy bars on windshields in busy parking lots, ringing the Salvation Army bell, paying for the order behind us at McDonalds, adopting a family, delivering baked treats to the dentist office, and leaving candles inside random mailboxes. I really need a new phone! Mine is several years old and I went in to look at new phones, but they are way out of my price range! Thanks for paying it forward!!!

Just last weekend there was a lady at the gas pump and her credit card wouldn’t scan and she said she had no money. We saw her going around asking everyone for money just to scrounge up enough to get her home. So we decided to fill her tank up for her. She was very grateful and she too said she would pay it forward. Feels good to do just a simple thing like that. 🙂 Never know….I may find myself in the same situation and would hope that someone would help me too.

I pay it forward as a part of life especially after my family was so blessed by others growing up….but this past thanksgiving weekend we were given boxes of food left over from a food drive and we laid all the food out on the table and invited 2 friends over for dinner…and gave them each shopping bags. we have a food allergy home and our cupboards were pretty full anyways but it was a wonderful thing to watch our friends who were counting pennies and collecting coupons for this months meals not even be able to carry their groceries to the car by themselves. then we fed them warm food and had such a great weekend!!!! it reminded me how much it meant to our family years ago…

a couple weeks ago at checkout at Target, the cashier gave me a $5 off $50 coupon that another customer had left behind (the other customer didn’t want it). it really helped and I was so grateful. the next trip to Target I went to same cashier and at checkout, purchased another $5 gift card, then gave it to cashier to “pass it on” to someone who might need it. very small but i hope it brightened someone’s day like it had mine earlier.

I am a Tmobile customer. My favorite time paying it forward was when I was in high school a few years ago…back when I had money and wasn’t a mom yet. lol. Anyway, we had a family in my high school who house burnt down right before the holiday season. There was 4 kids and the parents who were homeless, clothesless, and more. They never realsed the families names but offered for anyone to buy items to drop off in the office for them. I felt so bad so after I got my paycheck from work, I went to WalMart and bought each a clothing item, then went to the Dollar Store and got stockings and filled them with soaps, body spray, hair clips, brushes, tooth brushes, and tooth paste. My principle personal thanked me for being a gen-ours high school student, that not only would I go through the trouble but would provide so much. This year and almost every year we try to as least do one angle tree and more if we can afford it. Hoping to win this phone for my husband as his phone isn’t working much and we have awhile before our contract up is and we can renew. Thanks for the chance.

I would LOVE this phone (as would everyone else!)…I am a very loyal T-Mobile customer and have the 3G MyTouch…but my battery is messed up and only lasts about day now…so new phone would be a blessing.
Paying it forward–I try to do this all the time in small ways, but one of my favorite times was two years ago at Christmas. First off, a year before that my mother was having a difficult time financially, and I couldn’t do much to help her. So we found a church that gave her a Christmas dinner, helped her pay off some utilities, and gave her a few small gifts to give to my younger brother. I promised God/The Universe (whatever you call your Source Energy) that I would pay it forward in a big way if I could find help for my mom, and so I made good on that promise.
The next year I got everyone together at my job and my husband’s job and raised over $300 in cash as well as additional food items and household stuff. I asked to be guided to another single mother who could really use a helping hand. Well, I found one…and she had a teenage daughter (and you know teens don’t get as much help as the younger kids because of their age)…but she was not an ordinary teen. She had been through a horrific deal…she had some learning challenges, and had been through sexually assaulted by a family member, and was suffering from very severe depression, and her mother could not even afford winter shoes for her. So I took the cash and went online to Aeropostale, great for teens, and hit up their Black Friday sale. I/we loaded this lovely girl up on new hoodies, jeans, tees, gloves and scarves, sweaters, and even got her a new pair of furry boots and and some tennis shoes. I loaded everything up, the clothes, tons of food and toiletries, and enough stuff for a great Christmas dinner, and dropped it off to the mother. She cried so much when she saw all of the boxes of food and clothes. Her car was packed! She e-mailed me after Christmas and said we probably saved her daughter’s life because she was suicidal. She adored her boots. 🙂
I know I’m just a small fish in a big ocean who has done things like this, but this was such a gift to me to see someone receive such a blessing. And she promised to pay it forward when she got back on her feet.

I recently paid it forward at Aldi’s. I was waiting in line with my cart with only 4 things in it when a woman came up behind me with her 3 checkout bags already full and was trying to juggle them. I took the things out of my cart and told her to put everything in the cart. She said “what about your quarter?” I said someone once gave me a cart, so I was happy to be able to do it for someone else. The man in front of me had a full cart and had been listening. He told me to step ahead of him in line so that I could check out without waiting. So not only was I able to help this woman but I gave the man ahead of me the opportunity to help someone too. So it wasn’t just a quarter that was gained here. It was the chance for two people to do something to help someone else and show there are still kind people in the world.

am a current Tmobil customer and have been since they were Voicestream. This phone would be a huge blessing for me as my current one is several years old and often does not ring or randomly decides to shut itself off. I have been off contract with tmobil for several years but have been considering going back on one so that I could get an affordable replacement phone. This one would be wonderful because the plan I am on is no longer available and I would have to change plans in order to go back on contract to get a discount. As I am a single parent it is difficult to pay it forward in a large way but with the benefit of coupons I am able to donate in ways that I would not be able to otherwise. I use your page weekly and have learned to purchase all kinds of things with coupons. I was blessed to be able to donate 3 large tubs full of items that I had collected from couponing and join a caravan from my church that went to Joplin 3 days after the tornado hit. It was an expieriance that changes the way you look at things.

I am not trying to enter, buy wanted to let everyone know if they call T mobile and ask for the loyalty department, sometimes you will get someone who knows what they are doing and can get you a grat deal on an upgrade. My “normal” upgrade cost for the my touch 4g slide was $199, but a lovely lady was able to give it to me for $50! I admit sometimes I get some one who doesn’t know what they are doing or don’t care, but if keep trying you will find someone. With that said I have been with them for 14 years. Good luck to all.

Just the other day I was at Michaels and had two current ads with a 40% off coupon. I only needed one so when I overheard a woman debating two items because of the price I offered her my extra coupon and you would have thought I paid for the items myself. The awesome thing was my next stop was the grocery store and I didn’t realize I left my wallet in the car till I was at the register with brownie mix and ice cream. I only had enough cash in my pocket to get one, so I was going to put the ice cream back when the woman in line in front of me got a Catalina coupon for free ice cream with her receipt and turned around to ask me if I could use it! Awesome and proof to me that good Karma comes back to you!!

One of my favorite ways to pay it forward is to help new parents out, especially working moms. I found myself extremely blessed to be able to have so much help with meals for dinner after my two children were born, and prior to babies did not realize how much help such a simple thing could provide. I am also blessed to be able to stay at home with my children and have seen many friends cry as they returned to work.
So I started organizing meals for the first couple of weeks a new mom goes back to work so she is able to just snuggle those kids in the evening and not have to worry about dinner! Love hearing how they are able to enjoy the time they have with those little ones and make every second count.

A few days ago I was at Steak N Shake with my kids having a quick lunch and I noticed an older couple sharing a salad and drinking water. It just seemed like they were a little cash strapped but still wanted to make an effort to go out and spend time together as a couple so I went to pay for our food (with coupons of course) and asked to pay for theirs too and send them each over a shake for dessert too. (Which they also let me use coupons for. Which rocked. lol)
The cashier wasn’t supposed to tell them about who paid for it but she did before I made it to the door with my crew, and the older lady came over crying and thanking me and even gave me a hug. She said no one had done anything for them like that in a long time and that she would be sure to pay it forward.
