DIY Portable Homework Station

Kids on the go? Doing homework at the table? Here are some tips and tricks on creating a DIY Portable Homework Station that will work for both everyone.

Do your kids have a designated homework space at your house?

My kids have several. It’s the kitchen counter, the dining room table, on top of their beds, the basement, the living room floor and I’ve even caught them doing homework on the stairs!

Long gone are the days of siting at a small desk in the corner slaving away on arithmetic and adverbs. These days kids are on the move while doing homework so why not create a DIY Portable Homework Station to follow them wherever they may land.

The trick is to find a good tray, bin, crate or basket, preferably with handles, that can be toted around the house. I found this metal bin at Target.

What I loved about it is it’s oblong shape and depth. It is deep enough to “hide” the contents, it’s oblong shape makes it easy to store on a shelf or table and it’s cute enough to fit into my home’s decor wherever it may land.
