DIY Orange You Glad it’s Summer Teacher Gift with Free Printables
Right about now our children’s teachers are holding it together by a single thread. What better way to thank them for teaching, guiding and putting up with our children throughout the school year than to give them a jar of summer? Believe me, as much as they love our kids, they will agree with the sentiment, “Orange you glad it’s summer!”
What you will need:
- Printer
- Card stock
- Scissors
- Glue dots
- Mason jar (mine was a 32 oz. jar)
- Easter grass, craft shredded paper or tissue (just a little for the bottom of your jar)
- Travel size “orange” summer products (sunscreen, lip balm, bug spray, orange gum, orange soda, etc. Look in your local discount store’s travel section.)
- Ribbon (green and orange)
Instructions:
1. Download these 8.5×11 PDF file(s) — color or black and white.
2. Print at home on card stock. I printed the black and white file at home on orange card stock.
3. Once you have your prints, cut out the labels and use glue dots to attach to the front of your jar and to the top of your jar. Don’t forget to write “To” and “From” on the top label.
4. Add your grass, shredded craft paper or tissue to the bottom of your jar.
5. Place your orange summer products in the jar. I wanted to make sure I got “usable” products. In my jar I placed Banana Boat sunscreen, Off Family bug spray and a summer fruit flavored EOS lip balm. You could even throw a gift card in there among the mix (most stores have a variety of styles to choose from, so you might be able to find an orange one).
6. Screw on your lid and add a cute orange ribbon.
