We are blessed.
We are blessed to have to skill set and the time to coupon and strategic shop. We make our money go further and we still have resources to give to others.
Each week in the coupon matchups, you will notice that I put the word (CHARITY) by certain items. Those items are usually a $1.00 or less and are in desperate need by food pantries.
I believe that if all of us just a bought a couple of items per week, we would be able to help end childhood hunger.
From May 8 through May 14, join me and couponers all across the USA by by going through your stockpile and pulling out the items that you have in abundance. (Consider it Spring Cleaning for your stockpile.) And then we will donate our collections as part of National Stamp Out Hunger of Saturday, May 14.
Head over to the Couponing for Community event page that Cha-Ching on a Shoe String has organized to find out more information.
National Stamp Out Hunger Information:
- Place non-perishables food products in bags
- Place by your mailbox on Saturday, May 14
- Your letter carrier will pick up and deliver to local food banks or pantries
- Check here to see if your local post office is participating

Do you know if local charities will take items without the UPC on them? With Kellogg’s doing the rebate, I have a lot of cereal that I got for free but won’t have the UPC on them.

I believe that as long as the interior package is in tact – they will be accepted.

Another idea for any of you that live in the Blue Valley area is the BVMSC. I recently contacted them regarding donating items and here is what she responded with:
“We would love to have your donations of formula, coupons, and any other items for the food pantry. The number of families that have been requesting services from our office have steadily increased over the past few years, especially for food pantry services. We are always in need of baby supplies/food, hygiene items, paper products, and non-perishable food items. Coupons are also very appreciated by the families that we serve.
We are located in the Blue Valley Academy Building @ 151st & Metcalf. Our office hours are Monday- Thursday, 8-12/1-5. You are welcome to drop off your donation any time during those hours, and I can provide you a donation form for tax purposes at that time.
