But I’m also fully aware that sometimes our loved ones (regardless of how well intentioned) miss the mark.

    Cash. I asked to get dressed up as a family and have brunch at Powell garden, instead I was handed cash. Bummer! But I did still put on my pretty dress and run around town.

    My worst Mother’s Day present was last year. We did nothing, there was no card or gift, my hubby was hung-over from the night before and slept half the day. I was also 9 months pregnant with #2 so I was miserable. 🙁

    Nothing – that’s right. Kids were too young to know better and hubs forgot (they don’t advertise too much for Mother’s Day on ESPN!)

    I haven’t got a bad present for Mother’s day yet, but on my 1st Mother’s Day a few years back, my husband took a 3 hour nap while I was with a teething baby. Needless to say I was a little ticked…lol.

    This past Mother’s day. Had to stay out the night before until 5 am with my husband then got up late and had to buy my mother in law a gift and I didn’t get anything lol! My hubby said he would make it up to me though!

    Worst Mother’s Day gift… a garden hose. We needed one, but really? Poor husband learned to give better gifts after that. LOL.

    Hmmm..I don’t think I have ever gotten a “bad” Mothers Day gift, but I just have a two-year-old….so plenty of time to get one. My worst experience so far is having our brand new air conditioner not work on one of the first hot days in KC (today)…but it’s getting fixed now.

    I’m a mom-to-be so I haven’t really had a chance to have many misses on Mother’s Day presents. I didn’t get an official tangible present from my hubby yesterday, just some TLC–so it’d be nice to win this!

    I have never received a really bad gift, but this year my daughter decided she liked the gift she made at preschool and kept it for herself. She let me keep the empty gift bag and card.

    I’ve only had one Mother’s day!! I suppose though … the worst gift would be nothing at all. I’d even take a sweet hug or handmade card … but dear me, we must celebrate any day we can!! 🙂

    worst mothers day gift- a plant that i have to actually plant and take care of- i do NOT have a green thumb and i get stressed out and always end up killing them, yet that’s what my husband got me again! 🙂

    I work in VERY male dominated field and my groom (I think it’s more endering to call him my groom rather than husband) doesn’t get to see me dress like a girl very often; it sure would tickle him to see me all “dolled up”! It might even get me a night out!

    I’d say my worst Mother’s Day gift was absolutely nothing…my husband was convinced for the first year of our daughter’s life that since I wasn’t HIS mother, he didn’t need to do anything for me for Mother’s Day. Somehow, he wisened up…this year ‘our daughter’ bought me a gorgeous Pandora bracelet! ;o)

    I’ve only been a mom for two years now, so I haven’t had any bad gifts! However, my husband was sick last year (and we were traveling 5 hours home from a wedding with a young baby), so that was definitely a negative about last year’s Mother’s Day!
