Thirsty Thursday is the quest to drink good, cheap wine that is $10.00 and under. Want some more recommendations? Check out the past cheap wine posts on Thirsty Thursday.
Insatiable means always wanting or needing more and impossible to satisfy.
Great name for a wine, huh?
The Insatiable Red Wine is from California (Napa). Again, this bottle is a blend of several different varietals – 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Barbera, 17% Zinfandel, 10% Syrah.
Because this wine blend is heavy on Cabernet it allows the fruit forwardness of the Barbera, Zinfandel and Syrah to be mellowed a touch. What you will find is wine with deep dark cherry nose that moves to smooth and velvety spices and finishes with just a hint of tannin and tartness. And while some of our past wines might have been “too fruit forward”, you will find this wine to be much more subtle.
I actually found this wine to be better the second day. (I know *shock* that a wine lasts a second day in my house.) I think this may have to do with the Cabernet and allowing it to “open” up a bit. (That’s when wine oxidizes by being exposed with air – sometimes it is a good thing, sometimes it isn’t.)
I think wine would go awesome with tacos, cheese plate, or a grilled burger. It isn’t quite strong enough to handle a “BIG” meat like a steak.
With the label’s name and artwork, you might think this wine is also an aphrodisiac. And I suppose it could be under the right circumstances, but it also a good under $10 wine.

Note: This wine should be available at most liquor outlets. Please be responsible when you drink wine – and never drive drunk…seriously, that is just stupid in this day in age.
What about you? Will serve any wine with your Easter dinner? I always recommend a Riesling with ham or turkey. Let us know in the comments or link up. Because life is too short to drink bad wine.
