3 DIY Jewelry Organization Solutions Using Recycled Items

Love to organize? Want to be green? Here are 3 DIY Jewelry Organization Solutions Using Recycled Items that are practical, functional and earth-friendly.

Ah, January.

Time to get the house organized again. Out with the old and in with the new!!

Except, wait a minute. We are on a spending freeze for January. But I want to organize. Like now. Not next month … then I will be dreaming about Spring Break.

So, the other morning when I was using the last eggs out of the carton, I had a revelation.

“What a great design.
It would make a cool tray to store little items in.”

I don’t know if a lightening bolt of creative energy hit me (or just the 3 cups of coffee finally kicking in), but a picture of an egg carton jewelry organizer tray popped into my head! I knew I was onto something and began digging through our recycling bin to see what else I could make.

I created 3 DIY Jewelry Organization Solutions Using Recycled Items. And now I’ll walk away from the caffeine and the recycle bin.

1. DIY Recycled Egg Carton Jewelry Tray

To make, use all your eggs out of your carton. Omelets for a week, everyone! Wash your egg carton with soap and water and let dry. Lay your egg carton into a drawer or on a shelf and start adding your jewelry to each compartment. Your egg carton has now been transformed into a jewelry organizing tray! This egg carton organizing tray would also work great in your office drawer or junk drawer in your kitchen.

2. DIY Recycled Bottle Necklace Holder

Use any tall bottle with a cork (wine, sparkling juice, vinegar). Empty the bottle however you see fit. This is the most fun part :). Rinse out the bottle with soap and water and let dry. Insert the cork and then add straight pins into it. Hang your necklaces from the pins. If your necklace is too long, double it up to make it shorter. Place your bottle necklace holder on a shelf, on a counter or on a dresser or table. If your bottle seems unsteady, fill it with sand, sugar or small dried beans to stabilize it.

3. DIY Recycled Bottle Bracelet Holder

Bottoms up! Grab an empty soda or beer bottle. Rinse it out with soap and water and let dry. Place your empty bottle next to your necklace holder on a shelf, counter, table or dresser. Slide your bracelets on and stack them as high as you like.
