How I Use Groupon To Live A Real Housewives Spa Lifestyle

Anyone else want to have the jet-setting spa lifestyle of the women from RHOBH? Here's my secret tips to keep up on my facials, pedicures, yoga classes, waxing without breaking the bank.

This post is brought to you by CJ Affiliate’s VIP Content Service. Thank you Groupon for sponsoring this post. While this was a sponsored opportunity from Groupon, all content and opinions expressed here are my own.

March 19th is the first day of Spring this year.

As Spring arrives, I start noticing the new tulips coming out of the ground, the magnolia tree’s blooms, and my gnarly toes which haven’t seen the light of day since last September.

It’s easy to hide underneath sweaters, jackets and boots during the winter, but with the warmer weather, comes less clothes. And less clothes, means my “need” (at this point, it is no longer a want) for beauty, health and wellness services starts ramping up.

While I would like to pretend that I have the budget for 24K Gold and Oxygen Facials every week like “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills”, I don’t. So I get creative and find ways to make my “beauty, health and wellness” budget go farther.

I use Groupon.

Why Groupon? Well, to be honest, spa, health and wellness services are EXPENSIVE. And by using Groupon, I usually save between 40 – 60% vs regular retail. For things that are seasonal (like waxing and pedicures), it’s a great way to get the service without breaking the bank.

How I Use Groupon To Find Dream Spa Services

Groupon - Local

1. Get Local. It doesn’t do any good to find a service that is 50 miles from your home! So, you got to get local. To narrow your Groupon search, type in the city you live in the search bar, click “Enter”. Then click “LOCAL” on the menubar and pick your category, like “Beauty & Spas” or “Health & Wellness. It will populate a list of services in the area. You can always expand or shrink your search by adding or subtracting towns in the side search bar.

Groupon - Spray Tan

2. Find Service. Sometimes I don’t want to scroll through all of the different Groupon options when I’m looking for something specific like “Spray Tan”. So in the Search Bar, you can type in keywords for the service you are looking for and it will populate with the available choices for that service.

3. Use Coupon Codes. Often times, Groupon will have codes available to help you save even more. For example, this week is “Beauty Week” on Groupon. March 14th & 15th – 20% Off Beauty and Spas with the promo Code Spring20; March 16th is $30 Massage Day; March 17 – 19th is 80% off Health & Beauty Products.

Groupon - Buy More4. Plus-Up. In many cases you can save even more money if you “plus-up” your Groupon. So instead of just buying one service, you purchase three services for a reduced rate. I usually only do this if I’ve seen great reviews for the business or where I’m not as picky, like a pedicure.

How I Manage My Groupons and Appointments

One of things I’ve learned over the years is that you need a system to manage your Groupons. I can’t count the number of Groupons I have let expire due to bad organization. (And that kind of negates the whole “savings thing”.)

Groupon MobileFirst, Groupon has a mobile app which is the BOMB. The app allows you to buy Groupons as well as store them for future use. And while I try to use the app as often as possible, I make sure to also…

Print out the Groupon voucher after I purchase it and make a note of the expiration date in my calendar. And then on top of that, I usually set a reminder about a month prior to the expiration date so I’m SURE I’ve made an appointment. This combo system usually ensures I don’t waste my beloved Groupons.

The Best Thing About Groupon

The best thing, in my humble opinion, about Groupon is that it allows you an opportunity to try a new service, business, or consultant without a long-term commitment. It’s nice to have a trial run for something, like yoga classes or a gym membership, to see if it is really your thing before you lay down cash for a six-month or year commitment.

I have my list ready…I see a little waxing and mani-pedi combos in my future. And maybe a Barre and Yoga class…

Because who says we can’t live the “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” lifestyle on a budget?

We totally can with Groupon.

So what spa service are you going to purchase on Groupon – a spray tan, facial, brazilian wax, mani-pedi combo or yoga class?
