It’s SPRING.
Or at least that is what my little tulip sprouts are saying. It has been one of the craziest winters. I swore we didn’t see the sun for a month and a half AND I’m pretty sure I haven’t needed my winter coat except for two days.
Luckily, most of the country has been in the same boat, which means the selection should be amazing for President’s Day Sales. (This is my fourth favorite shopping weekend of the year. First, is Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. Second is Lord & Taylor’s Friends & Family Sale. Third is Black Friday. Fourth is President’s Day.)
I did a little President’s Day Shopping Guide on Adore Your Wardrobe with some of the best sales and coupon codes available. I guarantee that all of my leftover Christmas money will be gone by Monday. 🙂

Sam Edelman Petty Boot
I purchased these Sam Edelman Petty Boots on a whim during the Lord & Taylor Friends & Family Sale because I was looking for a lower-heeled boot that I could wear under my bootcut jeans. Within the second wear, I knew I had just found my go-to boot for the winter. Even with the almond toe, my feet never felt cramped or pinched. They are SO COMFORTABLE. Everyone I’ve recommended these boots to has fallen in love with them too.
And the best part? They are part of the Lord & Taylor President’s Day Sale. (Which is awesome because they haven’t been priced this low since the Friends & Family Sale in November and why I’m buying another pair in black.)
PS: If you are unfamiliar with Lord & Taylor…think Nordstrom with only sales more often.
One Day At A Time
Two weeks ago, one of my acquaintances on Facebook (no, she’s not a friend because I’ve only met her in real life twice), posted that she and her tweenage daughter had been watching the Netflix reboot of One Day At A Time and were enjoying it. Eve, my 11-year-old daughter, and I were looking for a new show to watch, so I thought, “Why Not?”
We are hooked. The reboot follows the same formula as the 70s sitcom … single mom, two daughters, slightly-weird handy-man, multi-camera format, live audience, couch in the middle of the room, kitchen to the right, bedrooms in the back … but two things make it WIDELY different.
- The issues they cover. They are deep, peeps. It’s tough stuff. But they do it in comedy and in less than 40 minutes.
- Rita Moreno. She steals every seen. She is the Latina Betty White. She’s amazing. #nuffsaid
So, if you are looking for a show to watch that is not quite as complicated as This Is Us, but has more meat to it than When Calls The Heart, this is it.
Pretty Girls
Usually in my I LOVE THESE THINGS posts, I give you a link to a book that I’m reading. Very rarely do I give a review about a book unless I LOVE it. Peeps…I LOVED this book. I started it on a Friday night and had DEVOURED it by Monday morning. I was squeezing in minutes anywhere I could because I could not put it down. Here is the synopsis from Amazon.

This book is certainly disturbing at times, shocking at others, and scary enough to have you checking over your shoulder while you read late into the night, unable to put it down.
