I love doing reader surveys.
Blogging is weird. I feel like I’m part of a community of like-minded people, yet very few of us have ever had a personal conversation face-to-face or even an email exchange.
So reader surveys allow me to “get into your brain” (insert evil laugh) and find out what you love, hate, and couldn’t live without on KCM. And those insights, from you, usually bring along changes to the blog.
(I realize, some of you saw the word “change” and started to freak out. Believe me, I know change can be uncomfortable.)
First, let me reassure you. The things you stressed as VERY IMPORTANT in the reader survey are not going away. I realize my roots are very important. Without those money-saving roots, KCM would not be what it is today.
With that being said, it’s time to shake things up a little. I’m not the same person I was five years ago, and neither are you. And honestly, I wouldn’t want to be. Change is good. Without it, we become stagnant and don’t grow. That is true not only about myself, but also the blog.
So here are some changes you will notice starting tomorrow on the blog.
1. We will no longer be covering Sprouts or Dillons coupon matchups.
2. Many of you “begged” me to start including non-coupon items that are “priced to buy now” into the coupon matchups. So starting tomorrow, you will see items listed that are “priced to buy now” according to our team’s price book. (Yes, everyone on the team has a price book.)
3. Because of that change, we will be focusing on the Top 12 – 15 items to purchase each week per store. Some of you may be sad about not seeing the coupon matchup for every single item, but if you have ever attended one of my classes, you know I believe in managing your time as well as your money. By focusing on just these 12 to 15 items, you will be able to save significantly vs retail prices and the list will be easier to manage.
Will there be more changes? Yes. You will be seeing more additions like great new money-saving tips, beauty recommendations, recipes, and DIY articles. As well as a HUGE celebration for the blog’s five year anniversary! Get ready to party in August peeps…because it is going to be BIG!
