Kansas City Halloween Activities

It’s less than a week away – no, not Halloween but the ushering in of the 2-month long ‘holiday season’!

It’s a time when kids are in heaven – dressing up and getting a big bag of candy (followed by days of choosing just that perfect piece).

November brings days off from school and visits to/from relatives.  And of course, December is just a flurry of both holiday and school activities for them, followed by a nice, long break from school.  Ah, to be a kid again 🙂

But for us Moms, it tends to be a little more chaos than celebration – finding costumes & the ‘right’ candy, decorating, shopping, keeping up with family and friends, baking, cleaning… Whew!

So, just take a quick breath this week and remind yourself that even if all the decorations aren’t up, and you may be using a few safety pins to finish that costume, the kids probably won’t notice.  Make sure to get a few quiet activities on the schedule — maybe a family read-aloud, an at-home movie night or some time out in nature to just relax.

Over the next few months, I’ll do my best to share some ideas for local events and at-home activities that I hope will become a memorable part of your holiday celebrations.

As for Halloween, here are a few ‘treats’ for you:

Here’s wishing you a wonderful start to the holiday seasons!!
