Inexpensive Centerpiece Ideas With Flowers

A beautiful table with fresh flowers.

{Cut away from dream sequence}

It’s a dream right? If only I had the money, I would have fresh flowers every day in my house. But since I’m not made of money, I’ve become really good at creating Inexpensive Centerpiece Ideas With Flowers.

The key to any fresh flower arrangement is to purchase high quality flowers. My favorite places to purchase inexpensive fresh flowers are warehouse stores (like Costco or Sam’s Club), Farmer’s Markets or Trader Joe’s.

Also, make sure to change your flower’s water daily so there isn’t a chance for bacteria to build which can make your flowers wilt quicker.

Here is a quick and easy inexpensive floral centerpiece that will look amazing in any room.

Supplies

Large blue canning jar
12 stems of carnations (the tighter the flower, the better)
18-24 stems of tulips
2-4 stems of a ‘filler’ green

Directions

1. Measure against the vase approximately how long you’ll need the stems to be and then give each flower a quick trim at the bottom. You can always trim more later.

2. Remove any lower leaves that might hit the water line. (This helps to avoid the bacteria.)

3. Place the tulips into the jar one at a time. Use tulips that are curved at the top around the perimeter of the jar so you have a full and planned hanging look.

4. Fill the center evenly with the remaining tulips.

5. Carefully place each stem of the ranunculus into the jar so it starts to fill out the bouquet and balance the shape.

6. Tuck the ‘filler’ greens in where needed.

7. Change the water daily to prolong the life of the flowers.
