I LOVE These Things: Die Fruit Flies, Die; My New Go-To Nail Color and Mommy’s Little Helper {Week of 5/17}

I LOVE THESE THINGS

SCHOOLS OUT FOR SUMMER!

As you read this post, I will either be doing some last minute packing (I truly am a believer in the philosophy that if you wait till the last minute, it only takes a minute) or we will be in the car driving to Colorado for our family vacation. This vacation is a little different than past ones…we will be doing a TON of driving and TON of hiking as we hit Great Sand Dunes National Park, Mesa Verde National Park, Arches National Park and the Breckenridge Alpine Slide (hopefully on that last one…the recent snow in Colorado makes it a bit iffy).

Be sure to follow me on Instagram, as I will sharing lots of pictures of the next week.

Here are the three things I’m loving this week.

TERRO Fruit Fly Trap

1. Die Fruit Flies, Die!

With the warmer weather comes green grass, new leaves on trees, flowers budding and freakin’ fruit flies.

I’ve tried every old-school-homemade-remedy known to man and those little annoyances just sit around and laugh at me. (Unless I open a really good bottle of wine and then they are more than happy to dive bomb into my glass, bastards.) Last year, we finally took matters into our own hands and purchased these TERRO Fruit Fly Traps and they were/are THE BOMB.

So as soon as those pesky little boogers came back this year, another order was made, another trap was set, and another mama had an evil laugh as she watched the little boogers going to their death in the very attractive apple looking plastic container. DIE FRUIT FLIES, DIE.

So if your homemade/DIY isn’t working for you, I promise these TERRO traps will, and then you too can evil laugh as they plunge to their death.

OPI Cajun Shrimp

2. My Go-To Summer of 2015 Toenail Color

Every year I try and pick ONE toenail color for the summer.

My reason is simple…the pool and sunscreen wreck havoc on my painted toes and only using one color means it is really, really easy to do touchups in-between pedicures.

This year, it’s Cajun Shrimp by OPI.

This is color is one of their top 10 colors of all time (even though it was new to me this year – again, I’m always behind by about two years on everything) and is the perfect almost-red-kinda-coral-with-a-bit-of-orange nail polish.

In a nutshell, it looks good on everyone. I got my before-vacation-pedicure this week and knew it was going to be my go-to shade this summer.

Ginger Lemon Radler

3. Mommy’s Little Helper

So last year, this interesting beverage called Boulevard Lemon Ginger Radler came on to the scene and people went nuts-oid for it. (Yours included.)

So much so, that we devotees bought 12-packs of Boulevard Sampler Packs for the privilege of having three Boulevard Lemon Ginger Radlers in the box.

Thank GOODNESS Boulevard pulled it together for Sumer 2015. This year, this nectar from the Gods, comes in a handy-dandy 6-pack of cans. No need for buying extra beer that no one will end up drinking anyway (who am I kidding, it always gets drank) this year. Needless to say, I purchased my weight in Radler as it will be Mommy’s Little Helper after a long afternoon at the pool or when I can’t stand to hear my kids bicker anymore.

Did I mention that schools out for the summer?

And in case you missed them, here are some new posts from the week.

Saying NO to the Art of Busyness

So six months ago, I decided that I would be saying NO to the art of busyness.Being busy is a badge of honor, but this non-stop pace is doing damage to our lives. So six months ago, I decided to start saying NO to the art of busyness. Here is what I did over 30-days to stop stress, learn to be present, and reclaim the joy in my life. It isn't rocket science but it will change your life.
