I love my cast iron cookware. It isn’t just for campers and cowboys (of which I am neither). Cast iron cookware is sustainable, eco-friendly, and absolutely durable and predictable. Furthermore, I love simplicity. I love a one-pan dinner that is easy to clean up. Cast iron cookware makes that possible.
Our friends at Lodge have just released a fantastic new cookbook, Lodge Cast Iron Nation: Great American Cooking From Coast to Coast. The cookbook is fabulous. There are tons of colorful pictures and the recipes all look amazing. Some great chefs contributed to the cookbook as well as cast iron fans across the nation. The cuisine is regional and focuses on traditional recipes and more modern cooking concerns (like health, ingredients, and cost).
What else do I love? The recipes are not overly complicated. They use real, typical ingredients we would buy normally. Have a meatless Friday? Look at this Pan Seared Salmon with Asparagus and Dill Sauce. Mouth watering yet?
