Last week I was privledged to attend a lunch sponsored by Libby Canned Goods and The Motherhood with seven other amazing local bloggers (from the back: Anjanette from Eat From Your Pantry; Candi from KCMetroMoms; Hannah Keeley; Me; Kristen from Dine & Dish; Jenn from Super Jenn; Heather from My Kansas City Mommy; Becky from Hillcrest; and Tracie from Penny Pinchin Mom).
The purpose of the lunch – to talk about ways we get our families “Back-To-The-Table” and how we get them to talk and stay at the table. Needless to say, we had a hoot.
Highlights
- I’m pretty sure I scared Kristen when I was talking about my food stockpile.
- Hannah scared me when she talked about her food budget for her family of nine.
- Tracie will always be known as the two Cheez-It Mom (and she really is a super-mom).
Best Highlight: Libby’s, as well as each blogger, purchased items to be donated to Hillcrest Transitional Housing to help other families be able to “Get-Back-To-The-Table” too.
Here is what we donated.
- A TON of Libby’s Canned Goods
- Ziploc containers
- Measuring cups and spoons
- Red “You are Special” plates
- Votive candles and coupon organizer
- Chatter box – conversation starter
- Mixing bowls
Want to get on the donation action too? Come be a part of the Libby’s Virtual Canned Food Drive that I’m hosting.
And since Libby’s wants to make sure that everyone has a chance to take something “home” – they are sponsoring a giveaway that will include a Libby’s Reusable Bag filled with Libby’s Canned Goods, Hannah’s book – Total Mom Makeover and a state-of-the-art can opener.
