We’re all busy as moms (and dads). And life gets a little crazy from time to time. As much as we strive to feed our families healthy foods and save money by eating mostly at home, it doesn’t always happen. I confess that there are definitely those weeks when I want to drive through and pick up fast food for dinner every. single. night.
And add trying to lose weight to the equation? Forget about it.
Luckily, Chick-fil-A just made all of our lives a little bit easier. If you’re a Chick-Fil-A addict like me, you’re going to be super excited about some new healthy (and delicious) menu options they have for us.
If you’re trying to watch your calories and get back into that bathing suit figure, Chick-fil-A is launching three new premium salads for the summer season.
Chick-fil-A Cobb Salad: Chick-fil-A Nuggets, pressure-cooked, sliced and served hot on a fresh bed of chopped romaine lettuce and baby greens, topped with shredded red cabbage and carrots, roasted corn kernels, a blend of shredded Monterey Jack and cheddar cheeses, crumbled bacon, diced eggs and grape tomatoes. Served with Charred Tomato Crispy Red Bell Peppers and Avocado Lime Ranch dressing.
Chick-fil-A Asian Salad: Chick-fil-A Nuggets, pressure-cooked, sliced and served hot on a fresh bed of chopped romaine lettuce and baby greens, topped with shredded red and green cabbage, carrots and mandarin orange segments. Served with Honey Thai Almonds, Chinese Garlic & Ginger Wontons and Honey Sesame dressing.
Chick-fil-A Grilled Market Salad: Grilled and sliced chicken breast served on a fresh bed of chopped romaine lettuce and baby greens, topped with shredded red cabbage and carrots, crumbled blue cheese and a mix of red and green apples, strawberries and blueberries. Served with Harvest Nut Granola, Roasted Nut Blend and Zesty Apple Cider Vinaigrette.
Each salad is less than 430 calories and contains two full servings of vegetables. You can substitute dressings for any other dressing of your choice. You can check out this video for a behind-the-scenes look at these new salads. These salads are supposed to rival the entree salads you find at many full-service restaurants.
They’ve also revamped their Grilled Chicken Cool Wrap for the more health-conscious customer, as well as made many changes to help you make better choices when you eat at Chick-fil-A. You will now find calorie counts on the menu boards, an online meal calculator, in-restaurant nutrition pamphlets and even nutritional information printed from the register upon request.
Chick-fil-A would like to give (4) lucky Kansas City Mamas readers the chance to try their new salads. I have (4) Chick-fil-A gift cards to give away for the chance to try one new salad each month: the Grilled Market Salad in May, the Cobb Salad in June, and the Asian Salad in July.
