Free Discover Music Together Event – March 29th

Music Together Picture 1

Truth be told, I’m a HUGE fan of the arts.

In fact, while most families push their kids into organized sports, mine are pushed into organized Arts and Music. My kids take private art classes, DS is playing the trumpet, and DD is starting piano very soon. It isn’t that I’m against sports (my kids still do those too), but I believe there are many life skills that can be learned through arts that will help them in their careers later on in life.

So whenever I see a chance for other parents to experience the arts with their kids, I like to share.

On March 29th, Music Together will be holding a free professional workshop at Unity Temple on the Plaza for adults and kids.

While at the workshop, participants will learn about children and music education, new songs, see a demo class, and learn about the business aspects of getting started with Music Together. This isn’t meant as a high-pressured sales pitch, but as a way for young mothers to earn a little extra income while embracing the arts with their kiddos.

Music Together 2

For those not familiar, Music Together is an early childhood music program for babies, toddlers, preschoolers and their grownups, that is taught in over 2000 communities around the world at independently licensed centers. They follow these basic principals (which I love and so believe):

The event on March 29th will be led by an experienced Music Together educator. This session will introduce you to Music Together’s approach to early childhood music education and review the nuts and bolts of offering classes in your community.

Free Discover Music Together Event

Even if you aren’t sure you want to be an educator, this will be an AWESOME music event to attend with your kiddos on a Saturday afternoon on the Plaza. Go to the Nelson-Atkins or Kemper Contemporary Museum before and make a whole Art Day out of it.
